I'm trying to set-up the extra buttons on my Logitech v470 for use on my HP desktop PC. Although I had no trouble setting up the bluetooth and the mouse is working, I am not able to see the BLUETOOTH TAB within SETPOINT 4.6. So I'm stuck. I would appreciate any tips on how to trouble-shoot this.
Thanks.

My initial message was imprecise. My v470 mouse is operational, but the SetPoint Utility 4.6 does not detect it, so although I get the "Tools" tab at the top, I do not get the "My Mouse" tab".
I'm looking for suggestions on a debugging strategy to use when Bluetooth connectivity is established, but inability to use SetPoint deprives me of the enhanced functionality of the extra mouse buttons.
I've tried this on four machines:
1) XP Pro Dell Latitude laptop with built-in bluetooth - success
2) XP Pro IBM Thinkpad with v2.0 (mobileAction) Bluetooth dongle - fail
3) Vista HP Desktop with v2.0 Dell Bluetooth dongle - success
4) XP Pro HP Desktop v2.0 (mobileAction) bluetooth dongle - fail
Thanks.

I have spent many more hours on this problem including inconclusive phone conversations with tech support at Logitech and at least one bluetooth/usb adapter vendor. My own experience shows that "bluetooth" is not a particularly useful standard when it comes to mice. It's a little hard to grasp this since both "bluetooth" and mice have been around for such a long time. Apparently the only way to be certain that a computer, BT-Adapter, and BT-Mouse are fully compatible is to try it yourself. Of the three BT adapters (Dell, MobileAction, IoGear) that I tried with the V470 mouse, only the one from Dell worked. It worked, by the way, for both XP and Visa. It also worked for both operating systems using native Windows bluetooth drivers.
I did ask Logitech which Bluetooth/USB adapter(s) was/were required for successful use of the V470, but did not get a clear response. If the situation is truly this murky then it seems only fair that packaging for the V470 Bluetooth Mouse should reflect this.

I've updated the pilot of bluetooth (broadcom, widcom). After that i was not able to install the setpoint (Khal error). After searching for half an hour, i mananged to find the windows cleanup tool from microsoft xp. Then everything works fine, i can use the mouse with all the button now. One more thing, in Vista, my mouse was not fluid, in XP, it works fine.

Actually it is not a problem of the operating system but support for the various BT stacks from the mouse driver. I appreciate that logitech tries to incorporate as many BT stacks as possible but I believe they should at least take some time to inform customers about this issue.
I have Bluesoleil stack and there is no support for it. Its a shame cause I (and others I assume) actually paid for the mouse but never been informed for these issues. Even worst we never got aftersales support.
Just a forum for exchanging ideas with other unhappy customers. ppffff...
