In the following comparison sheet from Logitech, I can see that the two mice do not use the same wireless technology.
I can see that one of the two mice uses an advanced 2.4 GHz wireless technology when the other uses plain 2.4 GHz wireless technology.
What kind of benefit can one have using 2.4 GHz advanced technology compared to plain 2.4 GHz technology ?

Powerful, reliable connection: Logitech’s advanced 2.4 GHz wireless dramatically reduces interference with 300 times faster data rate.** Virtually no delays or dropouts. Enjoy all the benefits of a cord with the convenience of cordless.
that might be the difference ........... LOL

Yes ... so, I have a problem.
I considered bying a VX nano, but it doesn't have the "advanced 2.4 GHz" ... I don't want to be stuck with a 300 times lower data rate.
The V450 supports the advanced 2.4 GHz, but it doesn't have the MicroGear scroll wheel.
I think I will wait keep my old mouse until a mouse supporting both "advanced 2.4 GHz" and the MicroGear scroll wheel will be available.

The G series are wired, I want a wireless.
Did you see the two little stars at end of the line you pasted. I picked up the message that comes with the two stars :
"** Compared to conventional 27 MHz wireless technologies."
So, what you mention previously is not a comparison between the 2.4 GHz technology and the 2.4 GHz advanced technology, but a comparison with the older 27 MHz technology.
So, my first question remains : What is the difference between 2.4 GHz and "advanced" 2.4 GHz ?

no the G7 and G9 are wireless
i still think its just the fact that the "advanced" transmits more reports per second for a better signal thats it i think

G7 is wireless with the Adv wireless while the G9 is corded.
The difference has been already said, better signal quality, no singal drops and no input latency.

I can see in this comparison sheet that the G7 doesn't have the advanced 2.4 GHz wireless, only the basic 2.4 GHz wireless.
Since people are having problems with the G7 (lags ...) it seems that the advance wireless is worth it.

The lagging in G7 is part of the hardware issues it has, if you have a perfectly fine unit there wont be any lag.
