G7 Mouse problems

[ Edited ]
Hi all. This is my first post to the Logitech support forum. I've been a long time logitech fan boy starting with the very first track man (way back in 1996). My desktop looks like it could be the cover the catalog :smileyhappy:

Unfortunately, my logitech g7 has problems.

This mouse is my primary device for a HP DV9000 laptop. This machine runs windows xp media center. I received the mouse (from an online retailer) in Oct. of 06 and everything was smooth for about 5 months. Ever since that time I've had to resort to my MX 510 because the G7 pauses/freezes once every 5 or so min.

I thought for sure this was a driver issue, so I upgraded (using the utility in the software) and tried the mouse again. Same result. After searching around on the support pages, I found how to sync. the g7 with the base using the connect software. The first time I did this it worked and solved the problem for a few days. When the issue popped up again I tried to do a sync without luck. The battery lights just keep cycling and the software never tells me the sync was a success.

Just to make sure it wasn't the machine/usb port I gave it a shot on my desktop which is running Vista Pro 32bit. I let the battery get a full charge and plugged in the mouse. It does the same thing, works but every 2 to 5 min. will pause for about 4 seconds or so. I've tried the use receiver on all 6 of my desktop's usb ports. None of them make the problem go away.

What can be done?
Thanks!
Dave Driggs

Re: G7 Mouse problems

Since the problem is the same on the other PC, get the mouse replaced.

Less than 30 days since purchase, you need to exchange it where you got it.
After 30 days, you would be covered under the 3 or 5 year warranty from Logitech.
See here for RMA info.
