I have a Logitech mouse part number 831383 and it is telling me to change the battery.  How do I open it?  (Can't find any paperwork...in the process of moving).  Thanks.

Hi,

That is the Cordless Mouse for Notebooks. The upper portion of the case, behind the buttons, should slide back to reveal the battery compartment.

Is there a reason that the instruction on how to open this mouse is not in the software that came with it. Is it that y'all are are to lazy to make instructions for each device or am I too stupid to own one of your devices. It said my batteries needed changing. Why in the world could it not say "your batteries need changing AND here is how to open it? Would that have been so hard. I don't write code but I can't imagine that it could have possibly taken more than five minutes too save me 30 minutes of looking through the useless help file and on the internet. I finally realized that I'm probably not the only one to have this problem and that somewhere on the internet there would be the answer and guess what it was on your website. Go figure! After looking and looking on the website and even searching for "replace batteries" and finding nothing I had to use Google to search your own website to find the answer that I should have had in the first place.

Could you advise me on the part number of your mouse in order for me to locate the user manual for your device.

On the bottom of the mouse, where the area to put your USB is, there is a tiny little button that has an image of a battery (it's really little).

Push that, and the covering that houses the batteries will pop up.  You can then remove the covering easily.

dgr, i totally agree. i mean seriosuly.. this reminds me of the time i posted on charmin's forums when they didnt provide instructructions about how to use *their* product!!
