Note: I posted this under another topic first (where the user did the same thing to fix his problem), but felt it was important enough to post on this very visible sticky.
I just wanted to add that the same thing happened to me and was immediately fixed by plugging the usb into one of my back ports. That is, if you are using a silver coloredusb belkin powered 7port hub (model #F5U237), Your connection problems might be a part of that hub. However, it didn't stop just their for me. I still had connection problems when I plugged into my pci Adaptec AUA-3020 Duoconnect usb/firewire adapter. I have to say, this adapter forced me to do a reformat in the past, but was working swimingly until today. I have a MSI KT333 ultra motherboard, which has 4 usb 2.0 inputs directly hooked to the motherboard. If i plug the wireless adapter into any of those, my mouse works flawlessly.
Unfortunately, all this testing and configuring might prove moot. I bought this mouse for a computer I am building and will see tommorrow if that will cause any problem. I'm also curious if it will work through the hub if its plugged into a newer usb port. I guess we'll see.
In summary, if you have consistent connection problems, make sure you try plugging the wireless usb connector into a usb port that has a direct connection to the motherboard, and doesn't go through some type of hub or pci slot.

I was able to get mine to work by first getting it to work on a PC (three reboots... uninstalling the old SetPoit software..etc...now I remember why I prefer a Mac!). I then could plug it into my mac and it just started working.

Wow, this mouse is the chinese finger puzzle of mice. It took probably 30 tries to make this mouse sync to my PC! It doesn't help that the connect utility is erroneously written. I was *this* close to return the mouse thinking I bought a $100 brick! No wonder I saw open box discounted MX Revs. of this mice on the shelf at best buy! People couldn't get it to sync! Great work QA team at Logitech! Rediculous.

Oh and there is no red light under the sensor. I'm using the mouse now and I can't see any red light like I can with the MX 10k.

This my first experience with a Logitech Product.  Not a very positive one so far.  Using it with a Mac running 10.4.8, got it plugged in an charged, but it's not working.  I've run the re-connect utility about a dozen times so far. Other than the battery lights being on and green, there is no other sign of life from this mouse.

Back to Kensington I guess.

I was going to write a review about this mouse for my MUG, it is going to be a very short one at the moment.

As a follow-up:

I spoke with Logitech Support - very professional by the way - who recommended all the steps I had tried. So I got home and tried this on a PowerMac G5 with 10.4.8 - no joy and also no luck with the connection utility. I happen to have my father-in-laws XP box here, as I just finished re-installing everything and updating his virus and spyware definitions after his most recent (and massive) infection. I tried the mouse there, no luck with the drivers however, after running the connection utility the mouse responded on the XP box. I unplugged and switched back to the G5. Instantly everything worked.

I read an earlier post where someone claimed they were able to get the MX Rev to work on a Mac after reseting on a PC. It seems the reset connection utility for the Mac doesn't quite work right. If you are using a Mac and have problems, I suggest trying to reset the mouse on a PC.

I will continue with my review - noting the problem of course as it doesn't seem to be an isolated incident. However, the mouse is one of the smoothest I have used and the innovative features have worked just fine so far. My only suggestion at this point would be to add some sort of acceleration adjustment similar to what Kensington has in Mouseworks. I'd like for it to sense how fast I am moving it and adjust its tracking.

I'm looking forward to putting this mouse through its paces.

No dice. I purchased this thing yesterday because it is simply a beautiful mouse. And I have not been able to get this beautiful, $100 paperweight to do anyhting since then.

I have attempted the connection utility several times, have uninstalled ALL logitec software from my PC and re-installed everything, yet this mouse does not funtion, XP tells me the location of my mouse is "Location 0", and, other than the green battery lights, there is, as anoter user complained "no sign of life" from my mouse. This is my first laser mouse, but all of my optical mice (every optical mouse I have *ever seen*) have had a red beam emmiting from the base.

I have purchased things from you guys before. I am used to buggy software. My MX500 that I have used for the past 4 or so years has NEVER functioned completly right, and oftern the scroll buttons go completly wonky.

But it is completly unacceptable that this $100, award winning mouse has so many problems for so many users right out of the box.

PLEASE make this work. I LOVE the feel of the mouse, the various utilities, and I cannot wait to use the scroll wheel fuctions and to map the keys to various functions for various applications.

But if the problems we are ALL having are not addressed and fixed, I will simply return the mouse, use the $100 to get me some new RAM or HDD space, and use my MX500 until it finaly dies, at which point I will see what some other company can offer me in the way of mice.
