Re: Logitech MX Revolution Sticking/Lag/Stuttering Problem!

[ Edited ]
I tried both my USB ports. What MAC connect utility?

What I recently observed is this: when I'm using for instance Transmission and I'm uploading at lets say 500Kb/s my cursor is sticking/shuttering very badly - if I'm moving it with the MX Revolution but if I move it with my trackpad it works just fine...

Re: Logitech MX Revolution Sticking/Lag/Stuttering Problem!

We need an answer from Logitech considering the mouse lag. When I first got it I had Windows XP installed, the mouse lagged right from the start. Then I made a fresh install of WIndows Vista Ultimate and the mouse worked fine for a couple of days. Then it suddenly started to lag and I installed Setpoint to see if it would help but it did not. The problem is, the mouse isn't always lagging but it can start lagging seemingly without anything special running, ie no games etc. It happens wether it's moderate on battery power or fully loaded so that doesn't seem to be the problem either.

So Logitech, give us some feedback on this issue please!

Re: Logitech MX Revolution Sticking/Lag/Stuttering Problem!

This is a problem with the mouse itself. I have been through 5 of these mice and its all the same story. Everybody I know who has this mouse has the same problem as well.

We all deserve either a fix for this or our money back. I'm sorry but a $100 mouse that doesn't work is just unacceptable and shouldn't have been sent out to the public in the first place.

Support?!?

Re: Logitech MX Revolution Sticking/Lag/Stuttering Problem!

I had the same lag problem with my MX revolution as everybody else, I tried pretty much everything, including uninstalling setpoint, changing the usb settings, etc.

The way I fixed it is by getting a USB extension cord and placing the sensor thing right in front of my mouse. This one worked perfectly: (cut and paste)

http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1945461&CatId=444

Now that there is only about 8 inches of unobstructed space between my mouse and the sensor the lag has totally disappeared.

I think that the metal of my case was interfering with the signal. I tested my theory by taking the door off my case and holding it between the sensor and the mouse; the lag returned.

The sensor thing should have been built into the cradle like with the MX1000. I had that mouse from right after it was released until a week ago, and it was fantastic. I really regret changing to the MX revolution, but now that it finally works I'm going to stick with it.

Re: Logitech MX Revolution Sticking/Lag/Stuttering Problem!

I've had this mouse for over a year now, and just in the last few weeks it has started acting up whenever the computer has any load on it whatsoever. Playing games is physically impossible. I've tried uninstalling Setpoint, upgrading Setpoint, installing older versions that worked fine before. I've resorted to using an older mouse of another brand with none of the same lag problems doing the exact same things as the MX Revolution. This has to be a hardware issue, because the touchpad on my Dinovo Edge works fine while the MX is frozen. For a $100 mouse, I am not impressed (and I used to rave about this thing!).

Re: Logitech MX Revolution Sticking/Lag/Stuttering Problem!

Logitech please take notice of this thread.....

I am now the what I thought the proud owner of a new logitech MX Revolution I have now owned the mouse for about a week know and I must say I am disappointed it would seem that this great product would have a serious flaw to it.
The MX Revolution seems to have sticking lag stuttering problem, know I know what your saying its probably my PC or its the way its configured but please tell me why I am not the only one and why everyone I know who also purchased this product recently under my advice that this was a great product and that I was planning on getting one myself type advice and mind you not cheap ether it averages retail at about $150.00AU, now have exactly the same problem as I do on my home PC.
There must be a fix for this or at least some product support that you could post on the Forum or send out to registered users of this product.
This is a real problem experienced by a lot of users a lot are not computer literate so there fix is to simply to stop using your product this cant be good and to be honest I love the mouse most people do its Great looking its grim and feel are beyond comparison to other mice its just a real pity that it obviously has some issues, surely this can be rectified with a fix for users that are experiencing these problems and not an excuse.

Logitech please take notice of this thread.....

Re: Logitech MX Revolution Sticking/Lag/Stuttering Problem!

The same identical problem for me.
I am using a Keyboard DiNovo Edge and a Logitech MX Revolution.
I've tried to change controller usb, to upgrade software and I tested it in a lot of computers (I work in a Computer Store). No way.
The problem is always there. The mouse sometimes decide to stop working...maybe for 1 second, maybe for more...and without any apparent reason.
I sell Logitech to my customers, but for sure I will not sell Mouse MX Revolution anymore.

Move the dongle to a better USB port. I moved mine to the front of my desktop and the problems stopped.

Re: Logitech MX Revolution Sticking/Lag/Stuttering Problem!

Theres a limit to how close you can get it in some environments though. I have the receiver in my front USB port. But that is to the left of me on the desk, up on a pedestal. My mouse is on my right. My own freaking body is causing interference between the two! And I can't just run a cord across my keyboard to make sure it gets a good signal. Why? I'll tell you.

1. I shouldn't have to buy extra crap to make sure my mouse works like it is intended to.

2. I don't need yet another cord running along my desktop just because Logitech can't design a good receiver.

3. I paid a great deal of money for this thing, and I expect it to work because A)It's a Logitech and B)Because it's a Logitech.

So pissed at this useless paperweight. It has made doing CAD work at home completely useless.

Re: Logitech MX Revolution Sticking/Lag/Stuttering Problem!

I am with TheMuffin. Completely.
At this moment I have an USB cable (5 mt.) that I use in order to put the receiver in front of the mouse.
Insane.
