Re: Logitech MX Revolution Sticking/Lag/Stuttering Problem!

k,  these mice do not like to be dirty, nor to be close to a cell phone or such devices that can output stronger signal.

i've had mine for well over 2 years & its still performing like it was fresh out of the box.
the problem is not necessarily hardware or software. could just be negligence from the user. keep the mouse's lens clean with canned air & keep high powered devices away.

& from my own experience, keyboards don't like martini, so i can't imagine the mice likes them either.....keep that away too :smileyhappy:

Re: Logitech MX Revolution Sticking/Lag/Stuttering Problem!

Well if the problem is interfering signals, the reason isn't user negligence but bad design. And I very much doubt that dirty lenses are the source of most of these problems, since large portion of complaints concern new mouses freshly out of the box.

I tend to place my cell phone near my stereo and I can hear when my phone sends out any signals. Never once have the lag problem and cell phone interference with my sound system coincided. I have no wireless devices other than my cell phone and this mouse.

The lag problem has reduced to a fraction since I placed the receiver nearer my mouse (from a distance of 20 inches/50cm to less than 10 inches/25cm).

However I do agree that it is a good idea to keep mouses (and other hardware) clean and sober.

Re: Logitech MX Revolution Sticking/Lag/Stuttering Problem!

I am experiencing the exact same problem and it is so very frustrating. I've got 2 new MX Revolutions and it doesn't matter which USB port I plug the receiver into, I experience the problem. I've also got a VX Revolution that I use for my laptop. If I use that mouse on my desktop system in place of MX, no problems whatsoever. The conclusion, it has to be the mouse and not the computer or what USB port I plug into. Support, have any ideas?!

I have the same problem. The mouse doesn't work when playing WoW, it freezes and stutters. That this hasn't been addressed yet is outrageous. I am not a hardcore gamer, I don't play FPS games, but freezing when I am browsing the Auction House?! Come on... I paid a lot of money for this mouse (knowing well it is not a gaming mouse!), and 1-2 second freezes are simply insane.

I tried everything your Tech Support advised me but it just doesn't work. Yes, even if I glue the receiver to my hand which operates the MX Revolution, it will still freeze! Not to mention that having to put wires to a CORDLESS mouse is nonsensical on its own. I am getting tired of this, I would like to have the mouse replaced with a corded mouse, hell I'll even take a new MX518 (even though its a downgrade in many ways) for this piece of junk.

You should've fixed this issue a long time ago, so if you replace the mouse you replace it with a working one. But clearly you prefer to act innocent and claim its "interference/surface/software" problem. No, its not. It's a hardware design flaw. I'm starting to believe the mouse is actually interfering with itself! Its interfering is inherent.

Re: Logitech MX Revolution Sticking/Lag/Stuttering Problem!

Well I tried uninstall the SetPoint software and that seemed to remedy the problem. The problem now is that I have a Logitech Wave keyboard and can't use any of the function keys. I guess that's what I get for being a loyal Logitech customer. It's too bad they can't get the drivers working properly.

Yeah, here I got the same problem, in different environments. The receiver is only about 1-2 feet from the receiver, the mouse brand new. Returning it soon.

I have the same exact problem with the MX Air, but only when using it on the desk, it seemed to work OK in the air, even at longer distances than 1-2 feet (duh).

I think it's probably the technology in the mini receiver from that generation. Those two receivers from both mice even interfere with each other. I can move both cursors with both mice in two computers at the same time, click buttons, etc. No way to pair an individual mouse with an individual receiver, like we could do with the receivers with "connect" buttons, is bad (I can't say "s u c k s"?).

The more important question is... Has ANYONE who has exchanged their MX Revolution had their problem fixed? I'd like to know if the replacements CAN be good (there are quite a few for whom the exchanges were just as bad).

Re: Logitech MX Revolution Sticking/Lag/Stuttering Problem!

Hi to all i buy today my MX Revolution w/o read anything that all of you have write here and i am glad for that.

The reason i say that is because if some1 who interested to buy this wonderful mouse read every1's complain and crap "this mouse is horrible etc.." mb he change his mind.

1st of all this mouse is not for games the company have say it and every1 who have review this mouse say it too.

2nd I use the mouse for more than 8 hours now and it didn't freeze for 1'' or more like many say here the mouse works perfect.

3th and last i want to say the one and only negative thing in this mouse in my opinion.. the weight of it it's really heavy! the battery i suppose is the fault for that but it's hard for some1 that have used to sth more light.. to have a heavy mouse is hard to target sth in a game but i suppose i cant complain about this this mouse is not for games i play some games mostly MMO/RTS and for now i can say i have a prob but it's still early i must get used to it some more..

I have WINDOWS VISTA PREMIUM x64 in my PC
I have always cellphone near my mouse on top of my desk
I have put the receiver in one of the front USB ports of my tower, the tower is on top of my desk right from my monitor the receiver and the mouse have about 40-50 cm distance from each other.
I have try to use the mouse in my bed while watch random stuffs in my LCD (one of the reason i buy always wireless mouse) i try it for 1 hour+ from 2,5m-3m distance no freeze/lag at all nothing ZERO.

I don't have idea why u say about this lag prob i never seen anything like this until now.. i use the mouse for some hours but it works perfect i just need to get used to this weight cause its really hard to target sth with accuracy.

Re: Logitech MX Revolution Sticking/Lag/Stuttering Problem!

scor, youve had your mouse for 1 DAY. My mouse worked fantastic for 5 months, 8 hours a day.. just like 98% of the other people in here.
in 6 months of regular use, please post your results in this thread. when it starts skipping, eat what you say.
The mouse new, is great. the feel is good, the button clicks are precise, the customization is nice, the weight is wonderful... but it shouldnt die in 5 months

Re: Logitech MX Revolution Sticking/Lag/Stuttering Problem!

Actually, it might be more than 2% whose mice have been behaving like this since new. I am one. Actually, I think I've found the solution at least for mine. Try changing your WiFi channel (mine works well at ch 11, badly at 1 and so-so at 6 in different environments). It's most likely interference. Happens as well with the MX Air as I said above. Hopefully future mice/receivers will be able to avoid this.

Re: Logitech MX Revolution Sticking/Lag/Stuttering Problem!

I figured that the router would be to blame, so i completely unplugged it and still had the stuttering issue. Its the mouse itself. unfortunately its just not well made.
