Re: Logitech mouse G7 freezes

[ Edited ]
Hi, i am currently on my third g7 mouse because of this issue, i am using vista ultimate 64-bit and i have encountered this problem again just recently and when it starts to happen it's continuous, random freezing/lagging.
I have already contacted logitech via technical support line in Australia and spoke to a technician and he told me that they are eol and can't send me another g7 mouse and my only option was to get a replacement and would have to pay the difference for another mouse and was recommended the mx revolution.
I am a gamer, i want to play games with my gaming pc and gaming mouse, i don't want an mx revolution for office productivity - this is ridiculous, my third time round you can do better than offer me a "replacement" mouse that i do not want or find any real use for...
The technician said i would have to pay the difference - i paid aorund $130.00aud at the time and would have to pay an extra $19 for the mx mouse which is $149 according to the technician, I have seen it for $89.00aud at the stores...So this is my third return of the faulty hardware AND you want me to pay MORE for a mouse that i just simply do not want?
This is the 3rd time i exchanged my mouse and now you try and overcharge me for a mouse i would never buy if given a second chance? This has gone too far - i even resulted in purchasing another g7 mouse off ebay because no retailers stock g7's anymore, I have no use for a corded mouse or an mx revolution. Now what i want is this - a new g7 working and tested mouse that you have personally tested in vista and certified that it works or i want my money back, i'm sorry i will not put up with this rubbish.

Re: Logitech mouse G7 freezes

I only have this problem when the wireless networks around me are busy (whether I'm connected to them or not). Definitely not the battery issue for me, I've had this problem since I bought the mouse a couple of years ago. It seems the G7 is particularly sensitive to interference, but then again cordless phones running on 2.4GHz can be as well.

Re: Logitech mouse G7 freezes

Hey guys with reguards to the freezing and not responding for several seconds, I have figured it out! I have owned my first G7 since early 2007 about march I love it I recommended it to my father he loves his then I started having problems one day so I grabed his mouse plugged it in to my comp and still same problems I reformatted my comp to vista ultimate (Gag!) same problem reformatted back to XP and still the same problem. so I thought long and hard about wirless things and interferences so I turned of my bluetooth on my phone (motorola Razer) it worked. anyway I hop your guys issue is as simple as mine! Good Luck with the fix's

Re: Logitech mouse G7 freezes

I've been experiencing the same symptoms as described throughout this post.

I've tried ALL of the suggestions and even as I type this, when I attempt to move my G7 mouse, it still cuts in and out.

It just started acting up like this yesterday (11/05/08). I found this forum hoping to find an understanding of the cause and a real solution. No such luck.

If we are all experiencing the same symptoms, there must be a common thread to the cause; more than likely it will be a flaw on the manufacturer's end. Logitech's personnel in tech support should provide a viable and effective solution.

Please, is there anything that can be done or do we simply look to other brands of products from now on?

Re: Logitech mouse G7 freezes

I purchased a new battery from Logitech, hoping I just had a bad battery, no luck. My mouse still freezes. As an avid Battlefield 2 gamer a mouse freezing in the middle of battle is frustrating. I've contacted Logitech about this and have heard nothing in return. Hopefully this gets resolved or I'll probably shop elsewhere for a mouse.:smileysad:

Re: Logitech mouse G7 freezes

I just located my receipt to attempt some kind of warranty exchange or refund. How ironic that my G7 started acting up like this 1 year, to the day, after I purchased it. I guess Logitech expects you to buy a new mouse every year.

Re: Logitech mouse G7 freezes

So what we are really looking at is this:

     1. Logitech has been aware of this issue for some time and has taken no action to resolve it.

     2. They have discontinued the production of the G7 but existing users can only get a downgrade replacement (at BEST)

     3. The sheer number of complaints about this mouse are largely going unanswered.

I have had my mouse for a few months, it is registered here. And at this point, I honestly can't expect any true help from the company.

Unless something can be done to change this rapidly growing opinion, this will not only be the last logitech product I ever purchase, I will make it a point to tell as many people I can NOT to trust the company any more.  I will also urge other dissatified customers (you know, the ones who keep this place in business?) to do the same.

Re: Logitech mouse G7 freezes

[ Edited ]

well here i thought that i had my mouse freeze fixed. since my G9 mouse was doing this on my desk top and in game. so i went to use my back up mouse G7, which is brand new and was a RMA to boot.

but after a few days of playing with no problems at all til. tonight it was very bad. i was playing fall out 3 when all of a sudden my mouse pointer stopped moving. i lppk at my G7 to see if the battery died, which it didn't since i just put in a fresh fully charged battery. then it went down hill with a rocket!! i thought eh must be thwe game since it does have some bugs.

but after i closed the game out it started to do it on the desk top. now i became very not happy about it. since i am using vista ultimate 64bit sp1 which is fully updated. and i am using the newest setpoint 4.60.122 and has i am typing this my mouse pointer stopped moving. but the lights on the mouse are on.

but i did not get the M$ sound for a device disconecting and reconecting like the G9 did. which i do have a thread on it BTW!! with no replies yet, beside me..

and to the person that said to take the mouse apart and clean it to fix it? this is  brand new right out of the box it was shipped to me by logitech. so it should not even have a bit of dust in it to cause any troubles.

i to hope they get on the ball here and fix these problems that are pleageing there hardware.be it software or hardware they need to fix this ASAP!!!

Re: Logitech mouse G7 freezes

8 pages on this thread alone and there still hasn't been a real response to all these freezes, it's very obvious with the sheer amount of people having problems that the fail rate on the product is rediculous.

We need a real response.

Re: Logitech mouse G7 freezes

Basically all logitech support is doing is playing stupid. Numerous members have stated the numerous things they have tried to fix this problem. So far all I've gotten from this thread was "Replace it". It's absurd! I sure as hell don't want a G5 mouse. My serial information on the bottom of my mouse has worn off, and on the main site, Logitech doesn't wan't to hear from you unless you have this. I've tried contacting them and have gotten nothing in return. It's obviously time to move to a different company.
