Re: Logitech mouse G7 freezes

Yeh I realize this but the problem is that in Australia we do things different everything must be 10x harder to do :smileyhappy:. I still have not received a reply to my fax I am going to send it again and see what happens but I am not hopeful about this support. I don’t know why my support process has to be more difficult than other peoples experience.

Hi Yon,

I have checked with Logitech Australia and was told that we have not received your fax. We would greatly appreciate if you could refax your documents on Monday.

Re: Logitech mouse G7 freezes

I have been experiencing this issue for about a week now.
As others have suggested here, switching back to an older version of setpoint did the trick for me.

Good luck!

Rolling back to an older SetPoint version didn't do the trick for me. I'm planning on requesting a replacement from Logitech on Monday.

True. So many people having the same problem at the same time can't be just a coincidence. I support the techs and appreciate what they're doing, but whenever someone else says "My mouse is freezing and showing the same signs as the other 1000 people in these boards", they'll start a whole new diagnosis process, saying what has already been said endlessly throughout the forums. ( Uninstall drivers, reinstall older version of Setpoint, reconnect mouse, clean battery connectors, turn on/off wireless routers and etc, none of which seem to be working ) I just wish the higher-ups would recognize the problem and take action. I love my Logitech gear and everything has worked flawlessly so far, but I just invested 400 bucks on a system upgrade to play Crysis during the summer and now my mouse stops working at the worst times. Definitely not cool.

Re: Logitech mouse G7 freezes

It's not a coincidence. I've been lucky to be problem free for a few months. It started acting up today i have had setpoint 3.1.116 for about 6 months now and no problems up to today. No real major hardware upgrades, drivers have been the same. Basically the mouse freezes the DPI setting goes to medium then goes back to normal after about 5-10 seconds. I know the mouse has a sleep feature and i'm sure thats what happens when it freezes, a hardware defect i'm sure logitech know about. Now i'm not that fussed i've got another one on the way and fingers crossed that will last. Can logitech admit there is a hardware defect with probably the sleep mode function in the G7 ?

I'm shocked as i know people have probably saved up for this product thinking its going to be a 'quality' product to find out its near death as soon as you connect it up to a pc. I should recieve my new one in a couple of days which cost me another £60 inc P@P(stupid, i know). I will post back when i have the new mouse connected up.

Re: Logitech mouse G7 freezes

[ Edited ]

I have used this mouse for years now, I am on my second mouse and computer and I had this issue with both of them at various times.  There is a fix for this because I have fixed this before, though i do not remember what i did the last time and this is why i am here, to find if someone has it fixed yet and as it seems, no one has.  It is a driver issue but its not limited to the latest version because I have this problem almost 2 years ago. I did not have this problem with Vista but then again it happens for no reason so i can assume it will happen eventually.  When i had XP it happen a few times in 2 years (more than enough to make me mad)
I can only suggest this: download and install the current drivers then after you have restarted the system after the reinstall go to the device manager and go to "mice and other pointing devices" expand and delete all entries then do a scan for hardware change and let the system reinstall the driver.  I think thats what i did to fix it but not sure.  I am not having the problem now and so i cannot tell you.
Good luck, but this does need a documented fix.... Logitech R&D needs to get busy!  This has been the best mouse i have ever used.  I have had the MX1000 and many other mice.  I would hate for people to really get deterred from loving this as much as i do.  The reason why there is no fix for this because it's a not a consistent problem and nothing in particular causes it that I can see.  I have to assume it's a driver issue.
