Logitech mouse G7 freezes

I am using a G7 mouse. I keep getting all these weird instant freezes (lasting from 3-5 seconds). It has been getting quite annoying. I switched USB ports, nothing changed. I suspected Setpoint might have been a part of the problem, removed it and reinstalled it without any changes. Removed all devices, such as mobiles and phones from the proximity. Still the same problem. I can't think of anything else. With my previous mice I didn't have this problem. I have also read in some other forum that others experience the same difficulty. Can anyone offer their lights?

Re: Logitech mouse G7 freezes

I've been having the same problem but, my mouse cuts out for a longer period of time, I've tested the mouse on numerous computers, different houses, with and without setpoint, same problem. I've owned my mouse for about a month now, Its really starting to get annoying.

Re: Logitech mouse G7 freezes

Logitech guys, you must look into the problem. I bought this mouse from Australia through ebay (I live in Greece), that must indicate how much I trust your products. Please, don't try to make me change my mind.
Also bear in mind that Setpoint is not as good as it appears. I installed it a great number of times, but when I reboot the tabs for keyboard and mouse will not appear. I tried clean installations, shut down antivirus and firewalls, but no changes. Somebody do something...

I second that. Wish we could get enough users to complain and get a petition to Logitech.

They really don't bother about resolving this problem. This problem is crucial when you label this mouse as a gaming mouse Logitech. How disappointing...

Wish I could have returned this mouse and bought a different, maybe a Microsoft mouse.

Hi,

Sorry for not replying much sooner. If you have tested the mouse on several different USB ports and numerous computers, and if the G7 continues to display the same behavior, your best option would be to get it replaced.

I have switched back to Setpoint 3.30bt (I am using Vista Ultimate) and, so far, the following take place:
a) The mouse pointer motion no longer freezes
b) I see the tabs for mouse and keyboard in the settings card (which I did not previously get after each
reboot. The issue had been upgraded to Logitech support, unfortunately with unsuccessful results).

I have the feeling that software has a lot to do with the problems encountered....

Re: Logitech mouse G7 freezes

I have similar issues requiring the receiver be unplugged then plugged back in, however this is a recent problem, when i originally purchased it in December i had no issues at all, now suddenly random freezing occurs, some days it works perfect and others it does it every 15 secs after i replug it it..... so i am definitely going with software, also it has nothing to do with lack of system resources that is for sure.

And if it requires replacing, how does one go about replacing it?

Try updating your video card drivers and USB drivers as well. Let me know if you continue to experience similar problems after updating all your drivers.
