Hi. I have just 'upgraded' to an MX1100 from an MX1000. I have had to MX1000's over the last 4 years and have been very pleased (apart from single clicks turning to double clicks on both after 2 years). However, I am less than happy with the supposed 'upgrade' due to a tiny amount of lag.

So, my question is "Is this normal, or is it faulty?". BAscially, if I move the mouse a very small amount, the cursor doesn't move straight away - this makes it very difficult to get precision when editing and moving audio files in my music software (Cubase), and also make it a bit hard to accurately place the cursor over say an item in the system tray.

I have tried the receiver in both the back and the front of the pc, and even in a slot on my keyboard (i.e. almost next to the mouse); I have tried it on my laptop in a different building; I have also tried altering setting like acceleration and sensititivty, but it does it wih everything. 

finally, when re-sizing an item in something like Cubase, or even a video clip in my video editing software, it's not smooth, but the cursor seems to do 'tiny jumps'; this is only when I move the mouse slowly and just a little bit.

So, is this right? If it's right, how does eveyone cope?

I'm finding the exact same thing.  Normal usage (clicking around the desktop and everyday stuff), it all seems fine, but any precision required, and it seems I'm having to move the mouse 5mm or so before the pointer jumps into action, making precision 3D work impossible.  I've changed the laser dpi settings to see if this makes any difference, but I'm not sure that it does.  I'm hoping like crazy that this is just a driver issue and we get to see a fix soon, or is there a particular surface/mouse mat Logitech recommends for this mouse (I'm using it direct on a wood desk surface)?

I'm also finding the thumb button takes some heavy and prolonged pressing before 'document flip' will work.

That's a good way of describing it. Just what I'm getting. I personally doubt it's a driver thing, more of a delay in sending the signal to the receiver, but lets hope I'm wrong!

Not aware of one yet. I ended up getting a diffrent mouse for music work, and relegated the 1100 to bog standrd stuff in the office, for which most of the time it's OK.

Vista. I have tried on both 32 bit and 64 bit - same result on both.

Hi,

Please try using the mouse on a shet of white paper. This will determine if the problem is with the surface the mouse is used on.
