Re: VX Revolution freezing...

Do you have any other cordless devices such as a wireless router or a cordless phone within the vicinity? Devices like this might interfere with your mouse resulting to such issues.

Re: VX Revolution freezing...

In answer to your question, I believe the VX sporadic lockup
problem is very common. (Note the number of posts and
comments on the subject)

We have tried it with several different systems, tried powering
down all 2.4Ghz equipment in surrounding area (why did Logitech
pick a frequency used by routers if that creates a problem?), tried
disabling USB Power-management, tried with and without setpoint.
Etc, etc.

This is definitely a design problem. It turns up in systems that
work fine with other mice, even other Logitech mice. I'm afraid
that the VX Revolution needs a major rev.  It's a shame because
the ergonomics and low-friction wheel are exactly what we were
looking for for one of our graphics-oriented apps.

Re: VX Revolution freezing...

I turned off my wireless router but still have the problem. No microwaves, cordless phones etc. anywhere nearby. Again, I would like to ask, is this a problem with all VXs or just some of them? I.e. if I return this for a different one is there a chance I won't have the problem anymore?

Thank you for replying bTaryag.

This is not the problem with all VX mouses. I use one and I have no problems with it at all. Test it on a different system, if you still encounter the same issues, your best option would be to get a replacement.

Re: VX Revolution freezing...

Okay, the first one went back to Circuit City, I got another one and it's awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
It hasn't lost the connection after a whole day of use, so I'll assume that the first one was just a lemon.
And the functionality of the VX.... great. I have never been able to do so much with my mouse.
E.g. I programmed the right/left scroll to move between tabs in Firefox - now the surfing is a breeze.
I just have to figure out which .exe is Windows fax and picture viewer to be able to make the right left scroll move between pics.

Thank you Logitech!!

Re: VX Revolution freezing...

Nice to hear that you've got your replacement mouse to work.

However, the problem has been reported so often, from so many
different types of installations, that either there is a problem that
does not occur with all mice, or there was a problem with an
earlier version that was fixed.

Logitech support: Can you confirm which this is? Obviously many
in this thread have had the same problems with the VX. Can the
problems be fixed simply by exchanging for a newer version of the
mouse, as the previous poster has reported?

I am very glad to hear that your new mouse is working flawlessly. If you require further assistance with your mouse, please let us know. As of now, Logitech is still trying to determine if the issue with the VX mouse is firmware related or caused by the surroundings. Rest assured, we will come up with a resolution for this issue.

Re: VX Revolution freezing...

It wouldn't make sense that it is due to the surroundings. I used two VX's in the exact same surroundings, one had problems, the other did not.
