Where can I get a replacement battery for the MX1000 mouse? It's part of the MX3100 cordless desktop package it's out of warranty and they battery just won't charge anymore.

When I put it in the charger the lights would go up in green for 4 cycles then stay at the bottom and blink red. I have no problem opening it up, (I did it before to clean out the scroller) I just don't know where to get that specific battery.

I don't want to get another cordless desktop setup or mouse because I LOVE the design and layout of the MX3100 keyboard multimedia buttons and the feel of the mX1000. also if I get another mouse. I would have another base sticking out of my PC. (one for my old MX3100 keyboard and one for the new mouse).

Do the new mouses like the MX revolution have a base that will accept the keyboard from the MX3100? that way I don't have to have two base on my desk.

your help is MOST appreciated

Hi geniv :smileyhappy:

The MX1000 rechargeable lithium-ion battery is a non-serviceable battery and should never be taken apart.  Opening the bottom of this mouse to get to the battery will void the warranty.

I suggest that you contact customer support via phone for information on  replacement and you may refer to the Contact tab on top of our webpage. You may also refer to article 53 on this link here.

Another option is to email us at this link.

From what I've read, a KODAK KLIC-5001 or compatible makes a good replacement if you don't mind voiding the warranty.

The stand-alone mouses (MX Revolution included) are single-channel (mouse only) or just plain the wrong wireless protocol (many of the current mouse models are 2.4 GHz, while the MX3100 keyboard is 27MHz).

There are a few that can use the old receiver for connecting (but not charging). See http://www.mstarmetro.net/users/rlowens/?n=Logitech.Protocols

thanks, I actually opened it up and realize I got an extra NP-60 battery from my camera that fits the size. it looks like the Kodac KLIC-5001 only thinner and 1200 mah (the original logitech one is 1700mah) I put did the solder and the mouse worked again. **bleep** I wish I read this thread before opening it up. I guess I just have to recharge it more often now that i have a lower capacity battery in.

BTW, here's some more info:
The screws are under the back 2 feet and under the label. The label you can just feel for the holes and press thru with a screw driver. For the 2 feet, you can either peel them off (and buy replacements or re-glue the old ones back on), or just press the screw driver thru the center of the feet.
