XBOX360 Wireless Receiver & G7 Cordless Mouse Conflict

I use a G7 laser cordless mouse and recently bought a Xbox360 USB wireless receiver so that I can use the 360 wireless controllers on my PC.  For the life of me I can't get both of them to work at the same time.  Anyone have the same problem?  If I boot with the Xbox USB receiver plugged it the G7 works but I can't get the Xbox receiver to connect with the Xbox controller.  If I plug the Xbox receiver in while in Windows it freezes the G7 and I also can't connect the controller.  If I unplug the G7 USB receiver and then plug the Xbox receiver in I can get the controller to connect right away but then if I plug the G7 receiver back in it won't connect.  Its either one or the other...help!  :smileyhappy:  I know they both run on 2.4Ghz but its frustrating they both won't connect.  Going to buy a Xbox360 Elite next month and worried I'm going to have the same problem at using the Elite and PC mouse at the same time

I am having the same problems with SetPoint and my G5 with the xbox 360 wireless controller.  This was not a problem when I was using SetPoint pre v4.x, I recently reformatted and reinstalled XP and all the latest drivers, inlcuding SetPoint and the problem came alive on my system.

A quick google search and a search on this form shows this is a very rampant problem. This issue has been with QA for 6+ months.  Please, can you provide an update to this problem? Preferably a solution :robotvery-happy:

I have the same problem with my Logitech G5 and the Xbox 360 wireless USB reciever.
I even went so far as to uninstall the logitech SetPoint software and my mouseware.

If I have my G5 plugged in, and then I plug in the Xbox wireless adapter my mouse instantly stops taking input and freezes on screen. I can unplug the G5 and plug in my 8 year old 2 button logitech mouse and it works fine.

If I have both the 360 adapter and my G5 plugged in at the time the PC is started then the mouse will not move from the center of the screen.

This is super annoying and I can't believe this has been a known issue for so long. I can reproduce the bug 100% and it appears to be a widespread issue - what is the hold-up here?

Oh and just to be clear I am NOT using a cordless mouse. My mouse is plugged directly in via USB and I still get the conflict with the Xbox 360 Wireless USB adapter.

The fact that Logitech has been "working on it" for 8 months now does not exactly breed confidence. This really seems like it should not be a difficult bug to diagnose and prevent.

I sent off a support request to Logitech that stated:
Everything is detailed in our post on your forum that has been unresolved for 8+ months:
http://forums.logitech.com/logitech/board/message?board.id=hardware_mice&thread.id=5085

Summary: SetPoint thinks the Xbox 360 controller is a mouse and resultantly the real mouse stops functioning and in the process, disables the Xbox 360 controller.

Please read forum for all the details, otherwise, I will just copy/paste the entire thread into my next message.

In summary, I need a resolution for the problem so that I can once again use my Logitech Mouse, SetPoint and the Xbox controller.
This is the response Logitech sent:
From your e-mail, I understand that you having an enquire with your XBox 360. I understand how inconvenient this issue is for you and I will do my best to assist you.

Please check either you have any USB hub or USB PCI card available. If yes, please try connect the Xbox 360 receiver to the hub or PCI card and please connect the mouse directly to the motherboard.

Seriously?  This is their response? Plug the controller directly into the motherboard? :smileyvery-happy:  All I can do is blissfully smile and wonder if support actually reads direct support requests or just skims them and sends out canned responses based on key words.

C'mon Logitech, please do something about this.
