Can anyone with an Air mouse tell me if they use the extra settings much like the shaking and moving of the mouse to activate programs etc, or do they just use it like a normal mouse only off the desktop?
I bought it mainly to cut down on pain in my hand and arm using my normal mouse on the desktop and I am trying to decide whether or not the extras make that much difference.

1. Exit SetPoint by right clicking on the SetPoint icon in the taskbar and selecting "Exit".
2. Click on the Start button and in the run box, type "%windir%".
3. Open the "system32" folder
4. Open the "drivers" folder
5. Rename the file "wdf01000.sys" to "wdf01000.bak"
6. Reinstall SetPoint
7. Important! Please check and verify the wdf01000.sys is present. If not, immediately rename wdf01000.bak back to wdf01000.sys. If rebooting without this file, it may prevent some of your hardware including mice and keyboards from working properly.
8. Reboot the computer.
9. After system is booted up, run SetPoint and check to see if the tabs appear properly.
Note: You might need to enable hidden/system file viewing for the wdf file to appear.

I also noticed that the date of the "new" SetPoint 4.0L file is 9/11/2007. I take it by this that my chances of getting a new driver to make the tabs work is pretty slim. I love the mouse very much but if I cannot change any of the default settings or be able to use the gestures, it is a very expensive mouse and I think I will have to return it.
If you have any other suggestions I am more than willing to give them a try,.
Thanks
Robert

1.) Put machine in CLEAN BOOT via instructions in the link provided below:
Answer Title: Tutorial: Booting Clean in Windows 98, ME, XP and Vista
Answer Link: http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/logite
2.) Delete all Logitech folders from Program files and common files (Logitech/Logishrd)
3.) Empty %temp% from run line ... as many files as possible.
4.) Rename the WDF01000.sys file in System32/Drivers folder to OLDWDF01000.sys
5.) The rest has to be done in regedit. Please backup registry and continue at your own risk.
6.) Run Regedit in run line.
7.) Delete the following Logitech folders from the registry in the following locations
HKey_Currentuser/software/Logitech
HKey_Local Machine/Software/Logitech
Hkey_Users/s-1-5-18/software/Logitech
8.) Select My computer in the top of the left regedit window so it turns grey.
9.) Select edit then find, type in Logitech and hit enter. At this point the reg find tool will find the first string.
10.) Hit delete, then enter, then F3 and continue to do this until it is done finding entries for Logitech. Repeat step 9 using Setpoint as keyword in find. Delete, enter, then f3 untill it finishes searching the registry for entries.
11.) Install and run Microsoft installer cleanup utility from:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Secure-clean
Remove the entry: KhalInstallWrapper or Khal_Wrapper from the list
---- REBOOT ---
12.) Install receiver for mouse. Let windows install it automatically on HID drivers.
13.) Install SetPoint
14.) Do not install the Yahoo toolbar, desktop messenger or any extras in SetPoint.
15.) Check for your tabs, take out of clean boot and check tabs again.

A couple of things that came up with the process though was....
1. "HKey_Local Machine/Software/Logitech" could not be deleted error message was "Cannot delete error while deleting."
I will say though at the end of deleting all of the Logitech entries F3 brought up no more to be found, so maybe that entry did get deleted in the end.
2. Hkey_Users/s-1-5-18/software/Logitech was missing, there was no entry for this in the registry.
Well that was a scary and worrying procedure, lucky I have had some experience with the registry but I would not like to do too much of that again.
I have a couple of more days with the mouse before I make my final decision to take it back for a refund or not, so if you have any other thoughts please post and I will try them also.
Thanks Robert

When I first rang Customer Support before I came here they ran me through a clean install and I have tried my receiver plugged directly into usb ports on the back of the computer, and the front of the computer. I have not had it connected into any extension or usb hub. I even tried it in different usb ports on the back of the computer with the same negative result.
I guess that runs us out of possibilities, which is a shame it is a nice mouse.
Thanks again CJChew, we nearly got it to work.
EDIT ====> You mentioned that using a different usb port can stop the mouse being detected properly. Since the first installation of the mouse it has worked for everything except for the tab options. What I mean is the volume adjustment of holding the volume button and moving the mouse sideways works, the back button works, the play buttons works. The only things not working are the tabs.
If all of these things work then the usb receiver is being correctly detected and it seems to me that it is the software program operating the tabs is the problem not my computer.
I hope as a last resort the software engineers can find the problem with the software as I truly do not think it is the configuration of my computer.
