Volume Gesture does not work after installing SetPoint

Before installing the software on the CD that came with the MX Air, I am able to hold the 'VOL' button and move the mouse in the air horizontally to increase/decrease the volume. After installing the Setpoint 4.0L2 software, the gesture does not work. I see the menucast volume display, and the slider can be moved back and forth, however, the physical volume does not change. The most I can do with the 'VOL' button now is mute or unmute.

If it helps, I also have a MX Revolution, a Dinovo Edge and Z-10 speakers attached to my PC. The volume slider on the Dinovo Edge works as it should.

Any ideas as to why the gesture isn't adjusting the actual volume?

Hi bobsac :smileyhappy:

Does this occur in all USB ports and have you tested on other machines?

Re: Volume Gesture does not work after installing SetPoint

I connected the adapter to various front ports on my PC and achieved the same negative results. However, upon connecting it to one of the back USB ports, the volume gesture worked. I also tested it on a friend's laptop and it worked.

Thanks

Re: Volume Gesture does not work after installing SetPoint

It could be a USB2 issue although I haven't heard of this issue before.

The front panel usb ports on most system cases are not setup for USB2 although they are connected to usb2 peripherals on your Motherboard they revert or are meant for USB1 connection only.

This is the only LOGIcal conclusion I could personally make.

Re: Volume Gesture does not work after installing SetPoint

I have the esxact same issue, and, honnestly, it don't think that have anything to do with the USB port. Most likely a problem of mapping that I do not know how to resolve. In summary:

the vlume gesture move the cursor (the logitch one on the screen) but does not change the volume
the mute control does work.

Would appreciate a fix.

Note the other gestures controling windows media player work fine.

Re: Volume Gesture does not work after installing SetPoint

Ok, so after a driver update, the volume gesture for my MX Air mouse fails to work again. Based on this, I don't believe that this issue is USB port related, but rather it has something to do with the SetPoint drivers. I've tried both the 4.00L and the 4.24.

Have you tried it without the SetPoint software and please refer to this link for more information on embedded mode. I would also suggest that you test this device on another computer if available to determine whether the problem is related to the system or the device itself.

Re: Volume Gesture does not work after installing SetPoint

I've got the same problem where without your drivers installed the windows vista volume can be controlled by the air mouse. Once you install the drivers 4.0 L and try to adjust the volume...

1. a volume display appears that goes up and down with the movement of the mouse.
2. The actual windows volume is no longer changing.

We should not have to do any more testing. This is so obviously a driver problem that its not funny. I bought this mouse to perform as it was designed. What's up with telling people to try it on other computers and asking them to try other usb ports. If the volume display shows up it must be communicating with windows so why is the volume not working when we install your drivers!!!!!!

Please test this yourselves!!!!!!!!!!

My operating system is windows vista premium.

Re: Volume Gesture does not work after installing SetPoint

I am also experiencing this issue. Running Vista Enterprise SP1 (RTM)

I have not tried a reinstall of the software but the version previouse to the latest updated worked.

Willing to test... let me know.
