MX Revolution - cursor precision

I've noticed that in Windows XP Professional mouse's cursor have more precision with XP drivers then with SetPoint drivers. Im still surpriced of that and cant find any answers why Logitech coundn't made good drivers. Im a gamer, ive tested mouse in game where mouse speed is quite important, in StarCraft:Broodwar Online game, first 30 minutes i played with SetPoint drivers after i uninstalled SetPoint and next 30 minutes played with standart XP driver. When i used SetPoint i felt like my cursor is running on the ice.

but with XP drivers there is one problem - you just cannot configure your bonus bottuns on the mouse;D But plus is that aiming is much more better.

Do anyone can tell me how can i configure extra mouse buttons without SetPoint?

Couldn't agree more. I just bought the MX Revolution, and the cursor speed/accuracy seems to be appalling. I'm assuming I must be doing something wrong, but no matter what settings I try I just cant get the cursor speed to feel right. I get the best performance when I close SetPoint all together and rely on the windows driver, but even that feels different from my old mouse. I've turned acceleration off, and tried many different settings for cursor speed, nothing is right, what am I missing?

Real pain cause this thing cost £50, but I may end up ditching it.

Hi:smileyhappy:,

What surface are you using the mouse on? This could be the cause of the problem.

[ Edited ]

Hello, I am new but just started using my new MX Rev and although I love how it feels in my hand I also find the cursor movement to be a bit erratic.

I realize the box says “Works On Most ALL Surfaces” but I am a bit more realistic and know obviously some surfaces will work better than others.   I also notice that there is no real light being emitted, at least that I can see.  Is this correct?

But back to the question: What type of mouse pad surfaces do work best?

I just purchased an Allsop Redmond, nice pad but the mouse seems to skip.

Any advice would be grateful. Thanks in advance JMD FLA

Hi:smileyhappy:,

The laser light used by the mouse is invisible to the human eye, so not seeing it is normal. To check if the problem is with the surface, please try using the mouse on a sheet of white paper.

Thank you for your reply

.  But  the problem has turned to be the reception quality of the MX itself.

My PC has a USB connections in the front panel as well.  I switched my MX USB connector to the front and it helped to smooth out the movement.  If I switch it back to the rear of the PC the problem returns.

It seems my unit has signal issues and I would like to have it replaced.

What procedure do I need to follow?

Thank you in advance

JMD
