Re: MX Revolution disappeared after Setpoint 4.6 upgrade.

Hi, not sure what you mean by disappear but the issue i have had with my Win XP SP2 system and the MX Revolution is that the driver would fail to install each time i connected the mouse leaving the device as Unknown Device in device manager.

I have 4.60.122 installed.   The solution was to back off the drivers for the mouse to 3.30 unsigned as follows:

1. with Device Manager running, and 'Mice and other pointing devices' opened

2. connect the MX Revolution and wait until you see the mouse display in the list under 'Mice and other pointing devices'

3. right-click the new entry and select 'Update Driver'

4. select radio button 'Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)', press Next>

5. select radion button 'Don't search.  I will choose the driver to install', press Next>

6. with 'Show compatible hardware' checked, scroll to bottom of list and select  "Logitech HID....3.30.0.0" unsigned driver, press Next>

7. when 'Files Needed' screen displays with path "c:\program files\common files\logitech\cddrv", change to "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Logishrd\CDDRV2" using Browse button, selecting the LHidFilt.sys file, press OK twice

8. press Finish to complete

My Mouse tab now shows the MX Revolution mouse picture with all the configuration options.  I have tried selecting the 3.30 signed driver using steps above plus the other 4.x versions on my system, all failing the update, all not offering the chance to point to different location for the LHidFilt.sys file.

Re: MX Revolution disappeared after Setpoint 4.6 upgrade.

Hi:smileyhappy:,

If you're referring to the missing mouse tab problem, please try the following steps:

1. Exit SetPoint by right clicking on the SetPoint icon in the taskbar and selecting "Exit".

2. Click on the Start button and in the run box, type "%windir%".

3. Open the "system32" folder

4. Open the "drivers" folder

5. Rename the file "wdf01000.sys" to "wdf01000.bak"

6. Reinstall SetPoint

7. Important! Please check and verify the wdf01000.sys is present.  If not, immediately rename wdf01000.bak back to wdf01000.sys.  If rebooting without this file, it may prevent some of your hardware including mice and keyboards from working properly.

8. Reboot the computer.

9. After system is booted up, run SetPoint and check to see if the tabs appear properly.

Re: MX Revolution disappeared after Setpoint 4.6 upgrade.

I recently installed Win XP SP3 in VMWare's Fusion  and also tried to install the Setpoint 4.6 software (there is/was no other setpoint software installed) but I found that I have no mouse tab at all! Worse, I followed your directions because I wanted to use my mouse in XP and I found I can't even follow your directions because there is no file named wdf01000.sys in the folder you specify. What am I supposed to do? Please help.
