I installed Vista premium last night. this morning I realized that the mouse (MX 1000) was not working The pointer is on the screen). I tried different things, reset, new drivers from microsoft for 32 bit, removed all logitech folders from my xp pro boot. I even bought a LX8 which is vista certified, to no avail so far.
vista will not let the mice work even though they are recognized in the system hardware. I am at a loss anymore and would really appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance

I recently had a cheapo mouse (a temporary wired one) and I found that it would only work when I had a PS/2 keyboard connected and I had to keep on pressing the start key (the windows button) until the start orb just seemed to have stayed in and it would no longer popup the start menu
once it did that then I could move the mouse, then click the start orb and then everything would be fixed up until next boot...
*Note*
if this can fix your problem like it did for my old mouse, just bare in mind that you must not touch the mouse from boot up until you have followed the instructions... if you do move the mouse before the instructions say you can, then that will make it take longer to fix the problem...
and if that guide doesn't fix your problem, but you have a gamepad, then just download Xpadder and set that up to enable you to use the gamepad has a temporary mouse up until you can find a fix or get a new mouse!.
Good luck, I hope this can help you!

Thanks for the answer, I will try it.
Of note, I tried to fix the issue by reinstalling windows but the problem is still here. I really hope to be able to fix this, as other issues need attention which I cannot attend to at this time.
