Solution found for SetPoint missing mouse tab

My hard- and software:

- Logitech V220 Cordless Optical Mouse for Notebooks; receiver connected with USB
- SetPoint Version 4.24 for Windows XP
- PC-Hardware: Standard Fujitsu Siemens CELSIUS Workstation, certified for Windows XP
- Operating System: Windows XP ServicePack 2 GERMAN

------------------------------------------------------

Proceeding #1 - For a failed or new installation of SetPoint:

Failed Install:
A. Uninstall SetPoint software.
B. Reboot.

New Install or continuing a failed install:

1. Make sure that your mouse is works proper with the Microsoft HID drivers.
To go sure, connect your USB Mouse receiver directly at your PC's USB port.
2. Delete file "C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\wdf01000.sys".
3. Install SetPoint software: "setpoint424.exe".
4. Profit.

------------------------------------------------------

Proceeding #2 when you want to plug your USB receiver into another USB port:

1. First delete file "C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\wdf01000.sys".
2. Now plug your USB receiver into another USB port, like into your TFT monitor or USB-hub.
3. Profit.

------------------------------------------------------

BTW - When running the SetPoint installation program:

The Installation of Logitech Yahoo! Toolbar could NOT be disabled with the keyboard, only with a mouse connected.

THIS IS VERY ANNOYING! PLEASE STOP THIS BEHAVIOR AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE!
What does have YAHOO to do with my mouse driver? My anwer: Nothing, Nichts, Nada, Niente! So please stop that annoyance!

------------------------------------------------------

This buggy SetPoint software cost me one whole day of my spare time! (Try & Reinstall, restoring from older backups, a.s.o.)

Re: Solution found for SetPoint missing mouse tab

That´s a great and elegant solution for that missing mouse tab problem!

When I updated my previous SetPoint version 3.30 to 4.24 version, I also lost that Mouse Tab.
That advice worked in my case:
4. Profit."

My hardware and software:
Logitech G3 Laser Mouse; receiver connected with USB
SetPoint Version 4.24 for Windows XP
Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo P
Windows XP Service Pack 2, Finnish.

Thanks, now the mouse works like it should be...fingers crossed...

Unless I'm missing something, this needs to be stickied, 'cause I know tons of people have this problem, & this is the ONLY solution I've been able to find.

Re: Solution found for SetPoint missing mouse tab

Hi:smileyhappy:,

The wdf file solution can be found in our Knowledge Base under this link. Additionaly, I've received one report where a user succesfully solved this issue by installing SetPoint 4.7 from our ftp site, so that's another possible solution.
