I get "Your MX1000 Laser Mouse's batteries are critical" whenever I put the mouse in the charger. The control panel and green lights on mouse show batteries as full.

I am running Vista 32 Home premium and this started when I decided to junk my MS mouse and Keyboard. I uninstalled the MS Intellimouse software and rebooted then installed setpoint 4.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling setpoint drivers but this has made no difference.

Any help will be appreciated.

Have you tried reconnecting the USB receiver to another ports, and then continue with the reconnection procedure

Hi Yes I have uninstalled setpoint, rebooted, changed USB port, reinstalled setpoint software, rebooted, then changed USB port again. Even after all this every time I place mouse in charger the pop up with critical warning at bottom right of screen pops up. I also get an icon in the notification Icons tray with a warning.

Note that if I place the mouse pointer over the setpoint icon in the tray I am told MX 1000 battery is full: LX 700/MX 3000 Battery good and Num lock on.


I am also running Harmony 785 remote software and Logitech Quick Cam Fusion software.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Try pressing on the connect button for receiver around 10 seconds and insert in back to the USB ports

Have done as you suggested and again switched USB port this time from back of PC to powered Belkin USB hub. Still have exactly the same problem. Setpoint icon says full and when I place mouse in charger the popup says batteries critical.

Noticed that the problem occurs when you place the mouse in the charger. Do you switch of the mouse when you place it in the charging cradle?

Hi Mal No the mouse is always on and I place it in the charger when I am not using the PC for a while. I leave the PC on most the day and place it in sleep mode overnight. I also just checked and I get the critical message if the mouse is switched on or off. Cheers Phil

It will be great if you can test the mouse by switching it off before placing it in the cradle. Waiting to hear from your soon
