Mice With Mac (READ ONLY ARCHIVE)

I logged onto my computer today to find out that my VX Revolution mouse was not working. I changed the battery and it clicks and scrolls but will not move the curser. It also turns itself off after a few minutes and I have to manually turn it back on again. I uploaded all the software and it still doesn't work. Then I moved the USB fob to different ports with the same results. This mouse is about two years old. Is it dead? Can it get fixed?Is there anything else I need to do?  This is my work mouse. I have the same one at home. Is this something I can expect will happen eventually there as well? Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

Based on your description, it looks like the mouse is dead. As the mouse has a 3 year warranty, you have the option of acquiring a warranty replacement. Please e-mail Customer Support  if you wish to do this.

I had my mouse for a little over two years and it stopped working too. I did everything, changed the batteries, and downloaded the connect utility thing and reset it but nothing worked. This happened to my other mouse too, I had it for a little over two years as well. It was a Targus. Does this always happen to mice when you have it for too long?

All mice will wear out with use sooner or later, regardless of brand and model. How long they can be expected to last partly depends on the frequency of use and what they are used for. For example, gaming mice tend to have shorter lifespans compared to regular mice due to how actively they are used.

I have a Logitech LX8 Cordless Laser Mouse for my laptop that is about 3 weeks old and it stopped working. The green power light on the bottom is on but the red laser doesn't come on. I replaced the batteries, switched USB ports and still no laser. Any suggestions?
