Re: LCC 3.1 and Safari 4.0.3 issue in 10.6.1

I posted about this in the keyboard + mice combo 3.1 announcement thread which seems to have died at 3 pages, the same announcement in this mice with mac forum seems to be getting a lot of developer attention so hopefully this issue will get a look at now that you've posted here.

The safari support forum on apple is getting posts about the same issue and all of them have installed lcc 3.1...  I don't want to be paranoid about why a device driver is editing things in my web browser, but its hard not to be...  I wan't to believe its an accidental common resource that the driver is editing.

Uninstalling the driver via the uninstaller in applications/utilities will fix the error but leave you without the logitech drivers...  There are posts here describing how to install an older version of LCC on 10.6.  Personally I just use USB Overdrive.

Re: LCC 3.1 and Safari 4.0.3 issue in 10.6.1

Had this exact problem, and I'll say it wasn't pretty trying to figure out what was causing it.

I ended up reinstalling safari a few times, disabling programs it seemed to clash with, and was almost ready to give up on Safari. That's when I made a last attempt, thinking it may have been caused by a different program of mine, visited their support boards, and there I find out that it's caused by Logitech Control Centre. Such a strange cause for a silly graphical error.

Sadly, at this point I've had to uninstall Logitech Control Centre and install SteerMouse. Now, my expensive Logitech MX Air I own does not offer the air functionality I bought it for. I guess I'll just have to wait for Lexmark to fix this issue before I can use my mouse in air mode, or even disable the annoying clicking noise the touch scrollpad makes.

This is really quite sad, that a driver touting Snow Leopard compatibility would screw up one of my most used applications.

Anyways, thanks for looking into this issue, and I hope it's fixed soon, as I don't know how long I can deal with the clicking noise of the scrollpad.

Re: LCC 3.1 and Safari 4.0.3 issue in 10.6.1

Same here. My problem started after I upgraded to the latest Glims release, tho. I was working fine with LCC 3.1 and the previous release of Glims. So I obviously thought Glims was the responsible one. Then 1Password. I've finally been told that it was LCC 3.1. I spent 3 days investigating this crap.

Actually the problem appears only with Safari at 64 bits. 32 bits mode is fine. Now if someone can explain me how a mouse driver can mess up with some browser tabs I'd be grateful.

I have the same problem.

Annoying to say the least. I'm baffled as to why a mouse driver would affect the rendering of UI elements in a browser.

Logitech, please fix this.

You can switch to 32 Bit-Mode, until a fix is available.

Re: LCC 3.1 and Safari 4.0.3 issue in 10.6.1

I am having the same problem, with LCC 3.1 tab appearance munged, without LCC 3.1, Safari tabs appear fine. Here is the Apple Discussion forum topic on thishttp://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2175757&tstart=0

I was just thinking of upgrading to the new Performance MX, but LCC always makes me crazy, causing wacky problems and interfering with other apps over the years (I have a Revolution MX).

Logitech, can't you just buy out one of the companies that makes a decent driver, and actually does Mac QA, if you can't invest in it yourself?

Re: LCC 3.1 and Safari 4.0.3 issue in 10.6.1

I'm curious if there's any update to this, or if the problem is being worked on? It's quite an inconvenience to have to use SteerMouse with my Logitech MX Air mouse. Even so, using SteerMouse I do not get the air functions of my mouse (The reason I purchased it in the first place). I would love for this issue to be fixed ASAP so that I can use my mouse in the manner intended when I purchased it.
