I later noticed a problem with Expose and Spaces not working. I tried the tip offered by "overylee" (COPYING the Expose and Spaces Apps from the Utilities Folder to the Applications Folder. This fixed the problem and now all functions are now working.
I'm still waiting for Logitech to fix this so the user doesn't have to work around their out of date software. I've been an exclusive Logitech mouse and trackball user for > 2 decades and am really disappointed with Logitech's lack of a response -- or communications with their customers -- after this Snow Leopard upgrade. Wake up Logitech!!!

I installed SL this morning and managed to figure out how to install LCC.
In order to get Expose working you simply need to COPY (not move) the expose.app from Applications/Utilities/expose.app to Applications. So just copy it back a level. This works a treat then!

Thanks PowerBookGuy!

Alternate-click the LCC Installer and select “Show Package Contents”
Navigate to Contents > Resources > Logitech Control Center.mpkg and run this file
The installer will run and then request a reboot
After the reboot, everything should work. I installed on 10.6 this morning and was able to customize my Logitech keyboard and mouse with no problems. LCC 3.0 may not be officially "supported" on 10.6, but this should get you functional.

Hi,
Glad my tip worked for you.
Ive simplfied it for others you want to run the same tip. It is better to symlink the apps into the Application folder, rather than copy it.
Do the following in a terminal window:
ln -s /Applications/Utilities/Expose.app; ln -s /Applications/Utilities/Spaces.app
This will create a shortcut / symlink in the Application folders. If Logitech sort this problem with LCC 3.1, then simply run the following:
rm -fv /Applications/Expose.app; rm -fv /Applications/Spaces.app
That will remove those symlinks from the Applications folder.
BECAREFUL when using the rm command in terminal. It can be very dangerous!! You have been warned!! ![]()

Hello everyone -
I have a lx8 and just installed snow leopard (10.6) on my mac (intel core 2 duo) and also had problems with getting Expose to work with my wheel button.
I saw a post earlier that described this, and this worked perfect for me. I used an unassigned function key (eg. F13 - i have my keyboard setup so that the shortcuts work rather than the function key - i.e. F4 opens Dashboard, not F4). I have LCC 2.6. I assigned the middle button to use F13 and then assigned F13 to open Expose in the Expose control panel.
Not sure if this will work in 3.0; Snow Leopard will not let me install LCC 3.0.

I'm still running 2.3.1 because anything newer than that has a serious bug in it that makes the mouse cursor pop to the Top Left of the screen in a few apps including World of Warcraft. (at least it did when I got first my mouse many months back, and tried newer drivers)
I'm NOT running a clean install of Snow Leopard, so i'm not yet sure about installing this version, but I can report that 2.3.1 is working just fine for me at this time, even accessing Dashboard & Exposé, without any changes.
I'll have to figure out how to test any new version that arrives, because if they don't also fix the BUG, i'm not changing.
