Any word on G9 Support on the Mac? I just got mine and love it, but I can't take full advantage of it without the drivers.
Probably not. We have not heard anything yet.

This is my 4th time replying in this thread. I've been using the G9 for quite sometime, coupled with 3rd party software: Steermouse.
It is a great piece of software, and it is perfectly as customizable as I would ever want it to be. The problems I'm having now are:
No control over the dpi increase/decrease buttons, Steermouse cannot detect this, and I have asked them for better mouse support, to no avail as of yet. This isn't too important as I get by with the other buttons just fine, and Steermouse even allows for different sensitivity settings based on the app.
The more serious problem, at least for me, is something that I've just recently been asserted of. It's the pointer precision. It's always felt a bit off, something about it's precision, I am able to compare as I dual boot Windows, and it works beautifully there. To describe the issue, it's as if the pointer stutters sometimes. For example: If you try to trace a straight line from one side of the screen to the other, and are as careful as you possibly can, you will see that there are spikes in the line, where the pointer just jumps sporatically. It's kinda odd, and it sometimes makes you "miss" a small button your trying to get to. It sounds rather funny actually, as it's small "jump" and not too bad, but a nuissance with heavy mouse use. I'm actually considering using something else for desktop use... maybe a tablet? I need something with the sensitivity of this mouse, as well as it's feel, and it's wonderful scroll wheel.
I am guessing proper support would fix this jumpy pointer issue, but that doesn't seem likely... Does anyone else have better success with this mouse using another method of control? another 3rd party app? That allows you to adjust the acceleration curve (I cannot stand the default OS X one), something that also allows you to customize buttons perhaps? Or maybe the issue is somewhere along how the system handles the usb device... Maybe something Apple can fix with it's upcoming performance updates/fixes... Wishful thinking I know.

Heh, I have the exact same problem, and I'm not using Steermouse. I've thought that this stuttering has been due to dust on the sensor or filth on the mousepad, but every time it has happened, I have not been able to spot anything on either the mouse's bottom or on the mousepad.
And since you experience this stuttering as well and don't experience it in Windows, I think it's highly likely the problem is driver-related and not anything physical. So, Logitech, can we please get G9 support on Mac? Now? ![]()

To the previous two posters, I have the same exact problem as you guys. I've tried plugging my G9 mouse into different ports on my Mac Pro, i've also tried plugging the mouse into an external, usb, powered hub. Same results. The mouse is not precise and worse yet, I found another problem. When my computer goes to sleep/screen saver mode, when coming out of the screensaver, my mouse totally takes a crap and I have to reboot to get it working again.
Jesus Logitech, can't we get a fricken' driver for OSX?? Your G15 keyboard works great on my $6,000.00 machine but your G9 mouse absolutely **bleep**, unless I use Bootcamp. But... Bootcamp can't see or utilize my systems 32GB of memory....

I think it is terrible that LCC doesn't even recognize the G9, I suspect all mice are more or less same fundamentally and having a simple way to configure the actions of each button shouldn't be too hard to achieve. When trying the latest LCC (2.7.0) I got some kind of kernel error when I was running World of Warcraft, it simply didn't work, and the mouse wasn't even recognized by LCC. By shutting down a couple of Logitech processes it was back to normal. So why did LCC effect my system even though the mouse wasn't recognized?
For me it would be enough if I could choose the G9 as a generic type mouse in LCC and then just assign different default Mac OS X mouse button actions, similarly to how the Might Mouse works in the System Preferences.
Could we get any word why the driver development for the Mac's are just so bad in comparison to Windows? Is it that just Logitech put more resources into the Windows counterpart, or is it harder to develop and integrate drivers for the Mac? Will it help to submit dumps even for unsupported devices?
I am not demanding much, just a way to re-map simple actions to the mouse buttons.
Any Logitech representative that could shine some light on this or point me in the right direction?
I am disappointed.

For yourself and the two posters above you, try changing your mousemat. I had that same problem but it was just awkward patterns on the surface that confused the mouse's laser/sensor.
Tell me if this works for you, all the best, J. ![]()

I have the same problem. Always thought it was because of dust on the sensor, or some glitch with the (mac) os.
