I chose to buy an MX 1100 early last month. Unfortunately, I can't buy directly from Logitech because it keeps asking for my email over and over when I purchase, even though I've signed up several times before. Anyway, I decided to go with a retailer that I trust from past experience (Lambda Tek). The first mouse did not work, so I asked for a return. The second did not work so I asked for another return, which again did not work. Now on the ninth unit I'm sure you will understand how irate I am. Their refund policy is long and drawn out, so it is still quicker to have these returns, but the point is that nine examples of this product will not work.
Let me go into more detail; I already have the latest LCC installed, so I plug the receiver in. The mouse does not move the cursor one inch, all have had the EXACT same problem. I've tried all of the classic troubleshooting methods with each such as disconnecting other sources of frequenc, checking the box for damage or dampness and so on. Nothing works and nothing indicates the unit has been mishandled, so natuarally I have come to assume there is a faulty product on the market. Any insight would be more than useful. Thanks.
Computer: 24" iMac 2.8 Ghz (Early 2008).

Have you tried Logitech connect utility? This is the first thing to do, and probably other nine mousses are ok. Install Logitech software,Go to Start, Programs, Logitech, Mouse and Keyboard and Connect Utility, then follow the steps ![]()
ups...Dint noticed that it is mac, but must be similar procedure
Sony LCD (KDL-32S3000) , Scientific Atlanta HD (IPP-330HD) , Sony HD-DVD Recorder (RDR-HX750) , Sony Receiver (STR-DE497) , Sony Playstation 3 , Logitech Squeezebox , Harmony One

Wow. Nine times. Are you sure they did not give you the same mouse eight times in a row? :-)
Several things come to mind:
1) The first obvious one, did you make sure the mouse is on? Make sure the on/off button at the bottom of the mouse is in the on position?
2) Have you tried the mouse with another computer? Try both Mac OS and Windows based systems. It just seems strange that you got nine defective mice in a row.
3) You did not mention this, so I will ask. Did you try other USB ports?
4) Uninstall LCC and try the Mac OS drivers. You should get at least basic functionality.
5) Try installing ControllerMate, SteerMouse or USB Overdrive instead of LCC and see if you get any functionality.
I hope this helps.

Yes I've tried all of that, it is definitely on with the green light showing. Uninstaling LCC was no help really (on my third install so I have been thourough), though it did start accepting the USB receiver when plugged in on the latest install. Still, I don't see what difference it would make as my previous Logitech Mouse just worked without the software installed (MX620). With all of the mice I've tried without the software; several were tried without software installed.
I've also tried it on my old Compaq Evo, iMac G4 and my MacBook to no avail. On the iMac I've tried each of the three USB ports, as well as the two in the keyboard.
Again, for the additional software, I don't think it would make too much difference as most fuctionality comes from plugging in without software.
Thanks for the responses though. All I can assume is that Lambda Tek have a faulty batch.

Very strange.
Maybe you can get one MX1100 borrowed from somebody else just to try on your machine, but you need to know somebody who has one.
The other thing I can think of is to open a support case with Logitech directly. Maybe you can get a replacement mouse from them instead.
Good luck.

Did you install the correct driver? Mac users beware!
My packaging for my new mouse led me to the wrong WEB site, It would have resulted in a PC download. I would not do that so I called the help line and was walked through getting the wright site for a mac. Thanks Logitech for a helpful service rep. ![]()
This wasted about an hour of time and would not have been necessary if I had known the following:
go to this site: http://www.logitech.com/
next click on the Get Support Now under Support Center on the lower right side of the web page.
Finally enter your data for your mouse and you should get the correct driver (Mine was a 17 MB download)
My mouse now works great. I hope yourswill too.
