Mice With Mac (READ ONLY ARCHIVE)

I just replaced a Mac Mighty Mouse with the Logitech MX 620.  I like the adjustments it allows, but the scroll wheel has a mind of its own - if I scroll down and let go from touching the wheel, it springs back to where I started - like a rubber band.  Very annoying.  The FAQ answer with the word "erratic" described the problem but did not give a solution.   I set the scroll speed to TOTALLY SLOW with no acceleration.  It still jumps around.  What else?  

Also, is there any way to make a button have the function of going to the previous screen - with just a button, instead of (1) right click then (2) back?
