Hey Guys,
I have been posting comments in this forum stating that I also have been experiencing the same delay problems with my VX Revolution mouse as many of you have. I have waited for Logitech to solve the problem and after two LCC driver upgrades it still has not been corrected. I am also frustrated. Then I remembered a third-party USB driver I used back in my OS 9 days called USB Overdrive. USB Overdrive is an universal USB driver that handles all USB mice, trackballs, joysticks and game pads from any manufacturer and lets you configure them either globally or on an application-specific basis. It reads all kinds of wheels, buttons, switches and controls and supports scrolling, keyboard emulation, launching and complex macros as well as all the usual stuff like clicking, control clicking and so forth. Basically it allowed me to program my mouse buttons (I always liked mice with lots of buttons) to do things that the drivers included with the hardware could not handle. So I downloaded the most recent version of it and gave it a try. I have put my computer and mouse to sleep three times already for more than 10 minutes and woke up the computer and tried clicking with the mouse. All three times the mouse clicks responded immediately where with the LCC driver version 2.1.3 there was a delay of 20+ seconds. I programmed all my buttons and all went well except for one button that is not recognized by the USB Overdrive driver, which is the One-Touch Search button behind the scroll wheel. I am going to play around some more with it to see if I can get it to recognize that button and if not I am going to contact the developer and see if he can fix it. As an added note, your mouse will not know which driver to follow so be sure to uninstall LCC driver completely ridding your system of the Logitech Control Center before trying to configure USB Overdrive. Anyway, I wanted to throw this option out to you guys to give it a try. USB overdrive is known for being great software. However its $20, I refuse to pay someone else $20 to my logitech mouse to work.

Thanks for the input guys.  I need a couple of guys to send me a message through the forums who are still having this problem.  Its been hard for us to duplicate so we'd like to gather some information.  However, not all MacBooks nor PowerBooks are exhibiting this problem so that makes it a challenge to reproduce.

First thanks for picking up the baton on this. 3 months of 'we are sorry, are working on it' was getting a bit tired.

I have a black macbook (the first one, not core duo 2), 2 GB of RAM. I am quite picky on my machine so have zero system extensions beyond the built in ones. The logitech usb module is currently hooked up to my dell 20" USB port, but connecting it directly to the ibook usb ports gives the same issue.

Issue again is if the mouse is inactive (computer asleep, or even leaving the computer for a bit). The mouse buttons do not work though you can move the mouse around. After about 20 to 30 seconds the mouse 'wakes up' and starts working.

I have also been posting in this forum about the same 20+ delays that the mouse clicks have after waking from sleep mode.
When I read the post by Logitech's rep "burdan" about not all MacBooks nor PowerBooks are exhibiting this problem so that makes it a challenge to reproduce, it got me to thinking.
1. So I tried this: I safely backed up my startup disk onto another hard drive.
2. Then I reinstalled the OS with the disks that came with my computer. So now I have a fresh clean system.
3. I first installed LCC 2.1.3 before anything else.
4. I dragged into my new Home folder everything from my backup Home folder except the Library folder.
5. Next I installed all those little mods that most of us add to our systems like ShapeShifter, Butler, Missing Sync for Palm, Menufela, Keyboard Maestro as an example of some of mine.
Now I used my computer a bit to make use everything worked okay.
I finally put my computer to sleep more than 10 times over the past 2 days for more than 10 minutes. And when I woke the computer and started to use the mouse, each time the mouse clicks responded immediately. I have not had any delays since. So of course there may have been some kind of conflict in my system with LCC that the reinstalling of the system corrected. But Macs are going to be customized, that’s part of their charm. Even adding a Logitech mouse and LCC driver is customizing the system. I hope this info helps to find a fix to the problem.
My system is a new MacBook Pro duo core with all current system software and PowerBook Titanium again with current system software and both setup with the same utilities and customs but nothing weird.
