Re: VX Revolution problems with Mac

In the vein of the 10.4.9 update, there is another update that has potential for Application Enhancer - doesn't that get installed with LCC?

Here's the link:

I installed, but haven't seen a difference yet.

Re: VX Revolution problems with Mac

_____
I'd like to clarify something. If the mac wakes up from sleep mode, the VX Revolution's mouse clicks take a long time to register. Only workaround is to reboot the mac. That is the issue many have been discussing, if I'm not mistaken. Just making sure we're not talking about taking a long time for a mouse click to register after wakeup then works fine.

We've done several things to attempt to reproduce and also attempt some fixes. I know some of you are dealing with this on a regular basis and appreciate your patience.
_____

The other issue is the software completely kills the OS, it freezes it, and you have to reboot.

Can you tell us how many people are working on this and what amount of time you are spending a week on it? Honestly with the lack of progress and the lackluster support my guess the 3rd years graphic art student who had an apple IIe when he was in elementary is the primary lead for the project.

This has been going on for about half a Y E A R now.

With my last point I don't mean to be rude. But now the engineer working on this fiasco should of posted on the boards.

Re: VX Revolution problems with Mac

[ Edited ]
just to add:

I having been using the VX Revolution for less than a week and am also experiencing kernel panics upon wake from sleep.

I'm currently running a Macbook Pro 15"; C2D 2.16 w/ OSX 10.4.9 installed. I have experienced the same problems with both 10.4.8 and 10.4.9.

I've experienced the following:

1. kernel panic upon wake from sleep w/ vx revolution connected
2. kernel panic upon manually waking up mouse (using the power button)
3. kernel panic upon removing receiver
4. LCC 2.13 crashes often when tried to configure (this happens very frequently, even after uninstall + reinstall)

I have not been able to reproduce the kernel panics, although they happen frequently (1/10). kernel panics have stopped after LCC uninstall, and i am using the mouse w/ the osx drivers. (no secondary buttons...)

as of right now, i have uninstalled LCC and am eagerly awaiting a fix.

Re: VX Revolution problems with Mac

Just an update. The Kernel Panics issue was never resolved and I was forced to stop using my VX Revolution mouse. Seemed like a great product hardware-wise, but ended up using it less than a month. If this issue ever gets resolved, I'll happily give it a try. In the mean time, I wouldn't recommend this product to ANY mac user.

Re: VX Revolution problems with Mac

To be fair. I like using my VX simply because it is wireless. I also don't like using my VX simply because it has crappy drivers. If for just the reason of using a wireless mouse, uninstall the said crappy Logitech drivers and just use it with the default Mac mouse driver. You don't get all the functions, but you get a wireless mouse that doesn't crash your machine all the time. This is basically how Logitech wants you to use your $80 wireless mouse anyway.

Oh, that wasn't fair.

Re: VX Revolution problems with Mac

Appreciate the update.

By the way the iMac at work which I recently got a VX for is now exhibiting issues. The mouse is taking longer and longer to be recognized from the sleep state.

Given this my guess is there is some sort of log the mouse keeping for some reason, and this log keeps getting appended to. When the mouse is awoken it reads in the entire log every time. This log is also written to without safety checks, often becomes corrupt, and this then causes the kernal panics since the driver freaks out reading it.

Just a guess.

My friend, the title of this entire thread is 'VX Revolution probems with the Mac', so itx exceedingly likely that this thread is all issues with the VX Rev. on the mac.
