Anyone know if this mouse has a middle click button on the scroll wheel (pushing down on the wheel)? I need the middle button to do Panning on AutoCAD.

The wheel click is a mechanical switch for the scroll modes. It is not programmable.
The "Application Switch" button below the wheel can be programmed to send Middle Click (which I prefer on my MX Revolution, since it is easier to click than a wheel).

There are two levels of "click" under the wheel of the Anywhere MX mouse.
Pushing down to the first click should produce the middle click effect.
If pushed further down to the second/last click, the scroll wheel will toggle from detented or indexed to free or vice versa.
The reason for my writing this is that I just purchased an Anywhere MX mouse myself, and also need the middle button functionality for CAD. I cannot get the middle button functionality by using the first click on the wheel either, and does not seem to be able to be programmed using the included software.
I have used a Logitech MX 1100 mouse for about a year now and use the "middle button" setting on the left and right scroll functions to allow use in CAD. The same settings with the Anywhere MX do not produce the same results.
If I cannot figure out how to get this functionality in the Anywhere, I will have to return it as CAD is my bag baby!
Any help would be welcomed.
Thanks.

OK. A little update.
To get the effect of the middle button, you need to push the wheel down and forward, using your finger on the back, (towards your palm), portion of the wheel. This feels a little awkward at first as the wheel on this mouse is much smaller than the MX 1100 I have been using.
There ya go AutoCAD user! Push down and forward.

I can make it act like a middle button, but it is too flaky with the second click so close. Trying to force the wheel to "find" the middle click is to inconsistent for good flow in CAD work.
Unfortunately, my new Anywhere will not be going anywhere but back to the store. ![]()

I bought two different mice tonight, knowing that they would have to pass the CAD operability test, and the other one would be going back. The other mouse I bought, and am now enjoying is the Marathon Mouse M705. Great feel with the buttons, better fit in the hand than the Anywhere MX.
I don't know if you need the "Dark Field" feature, but I have never had a problem with the later Logitech mice on any surface that I have used.
BTW, I bought the Logitech WAVE keyboard as well an am really enjoying the ergonomic shape and very quiet keys.

Greg,
Is the Marathon Mouse M705 easy to select the middle mouse button? I am currently looking for a mouse to do Pro E and Catia (CAD). I need a middle mouse button that is very easy to click and often. I have a Microsoft Mobile Mouse 4000, while it is great for scrolling, moving around, and tracking, it FAILS at middle mouse button. It is very difficult to push and activate. THis is in contrast to my old corded MS Intelli Mouse 3000 which still works fine but tracking is ok and it is huge and corded.
Thanks

Simple
Set
Middle Button = Middle Button
Left Scroll = Middle Button
Right Scroll = Middle Button
When you press (and hold) the middle button most everyone will nudge it a little to the left or right as you are maneuvering the rodent around. The system gets confused and just gives up. The designers did not consider the middle press and hold requirements of some users.
Have fun panning
