Anywhere MX mouse left button problem.

[ Edited ]

Hi all

I have used my Anywhere MX mouse without any problems for the past 1 and a half year. But when i needed it today the left mouse button simply wouldn't respond.

I do not have any problem with any of the other buttons, it is only the left mouse button that wont work.

I hope that one of you can help me with this

Re: Anywhere MX mouse left button problem.

Hi Wilson90,

Please try the following steps to further isolate the issue:

  • Remove the batteries from the mouse  and press the left and right button repeatedly  for approximately two    minutes. This will clear out the capacitors.
  • Insert a fresh battery on the mouse.
  • Plug the receiver to another port.
  • Turn on the mouse and test again.
  • If its still not working, use it on another computer to confirm if its a hardware problem.

If you are still unable to resolve your issue, click on Start > Control Panel > Mouse. Adjust the double-click speed.
If the mouse still doesn't work properly, put a check mark on Switch Primary and Secondary Buttons.
If the left click responds properly using the right mouse button, then the issue is isolated as a hardware malfunction.
The left button of the mouse is already defective.

Please let me know the result as it will determine the next course of action I need to take.
Your mouse is under warranty for 3 years, if hardware problem is confirmed. we will send you a replacement, for free.
I hope to hear from you.

Re: Anywhere MX mouse left button problem.

This problem is now fixed - Actually i just turned my computer on the next day and the mouse seemed to work fine.

Although it isn't quite perfect. It now seems to double click when i only click once? In the beginning of last weeked it seemed to happen more often than it does now, so i just hope that it will fix itself, but this i think is rather unlikely.

Is this a common problem (going from not working at all and then suddenly beginning to double click)?
Do you know any way to fix the double clicking?

Re: Anywhere MX mouse left button problem.

[ Edited ]

I am an admin at my company.  I use the dark mouse with my Macbook Pro because I love the programable buttons, the long battery life, and the ability to use it on almost any surface.  I just replaced this same mouse for another employee (using the same Mac platform) becuase of this issue with the left click button - it failed or was very sketchy at best.  Now my mouse is doing the same thing, only I can click but cannot drag.  Through some troubleshooting and experimentation I find that it is behaving like a doulbe click (a windows mouse config dialog proved this).  I also found that I can sometimes get the drag feature to work if I only press very lightly.  Coversly, when I press the entire way (normal pressure on all other mice) the second click event happens and the drag control is lost.

I love the mouse but am begining to wonder if it is worth the price.  I have had mine for a little over a year.

The trouble shooting tips given above did not eliminate the problem.

Regards,

Re: Anywhere MX mouse left button problem.

Hello thebenjij,

If you have already finished troubleshooting and verified that it's a hardware defect, I suggest you contact the Logitech Support Team of your region for a warranty claim. The Logitech Anywhere Mouse MX has a three year limited hardware warranty.
