I've had three mice in the past, two MX510s and an MX518, but the right click button on both stopped working eventually. Are the new mice made with better quality materials than the old ones? The click mechanisms are garbage, so I'm reluctant to buy another Logitech mouse.

I have few corded optical mice, the MX700, MX600, MX610, V200, V400 and MX1000. I never have had this right click issue. The only issue I had was with the corded mice getting a short in the cord.
How hard do you right click?

decently hard, but I guess I can change that.
I just bought a new MX518, do I have to do anything to enable the warranty or do I just keep my reciept?

You only need the receipt that I know of.
