BAD MOUSE???

I bought a Logitec Wireless Keyboard/Mouse Set from Office Depot about a year and a half ago.
I believe the Mouse is a Model "M310".
About 5 weeks ago, it took  a lot of effort to get the Pointer across the screen.
I would have to pick my Mouse up (and then put it back down while dragging it),
about 6 times, just to get from the Left to the Right side of the Screen.
I changed the Battery in the Mouse , to no avail.
Then I took and unplugged/Re-plugged the USB Controller back into the USB Port , to no avail.
I double checked to see that the On/Off button on the Bottom of the Mouse, was in the "On" position, to no avail.

Then I realized that I wasnt seeing the Red Laser Light on the bottom of the Mouse.
Trying to use it is Frustrating at the least.

Is it time for a new Mouse?
What are the chance for a repair or replacement?
I dont have the reciept, and being out of work, that $24.95 for a new one is Cost Prohibitive.

Re: BAD MOUSE???

Hello Blackmagic,

The M310 mouse is a laser mouse and you will not see a light on the bottom like the optical mice. You may need to adjust your mouse settings in your operating system or SetPoint. You could also try a different surface and /or canned compressed air to dislodge any dust that may have lodged in the eye.

Re: BAD MOUSE???

Cintech - my mouse is reacting/dragging the same way and I thought it might be the driver - but - the model number and/or serial number is not imprinted anywhere on the mouse, so, since Logitech wants both before answering any questions, I'm finished at the gate.

This mouse is small,. wireless and is about 4 yrs old.  It has worked beautifully - up until about 2 weeks ago.  About a week after I purchased a new computer with a much larger screen than my former ones had, the mouse began dragging as though it were trying to push through 4' of water!  Clicks often don't register and I have to go back and do it again (and again), it sticks wherever it chooses and, right in the middle of doing something, it will suddenly behave as though it had no power at all.

You advised BlackMagic that he/she might have to adjust the mouse setting in the OS or SetPoint.  From what to what?  And what is the 'SetPoint'?

Sorry to have to illuminate my ignorance on this point, but if I don't ask, I'll never know.

Thanks, I hope!
