Backup my setpoint profile?

Hi All,

Is there a way to backup/restore my setpoint options so that I won't have to re-create it when I reformat the hard drive or move to a new machine?  I have it all set up with my different options for different programs and I'd like to not have to re-invent the wheel.

Sorry if this is answered elsewhere, I searched but didn't find anything.  Thanks for your help!

Re: Backup my setpoint profile?

Hello,

Yes, there is. Although, it is not for the faint hartet.

1. You need to have all hidden files and folders shown in Windows

2.  Find the file USER.XML

Vista path: C:\Users\<YOUR_USER_NAME>\AppData\Roaming\Logitech\SetPoint

XP path: C:\Documents and Settings\<YOUR_USER_NAME>\Application Data\Logitech\Setpoint

3. Back up this file

On the new computer, shutdown Setpoint (right-click and exit on the systray icon), then replace the USER.XML file on the new computer, with the one you backed up from the "other" computer.

Re: Backup my setpoint profile?

Why not just have the option to back up current settings or have all the settings saved on the Logitech server? You have to log in to your account in order to customize the remote so why not save all the settings on the server at Logitech?

Re: Backup my setpoint profile?

Hello daidude,

In fact, we had this feature many years ago (+5 years), when we used the iTouch software.

Unfortunately, it was decided at the time to discontinue the service, since it was hardly being used, mainly due to the fact that it was far ahead of its time.

Of course, this is not to say that in the future that such an option may again become available in Setpoint.

Peter, I followed your instructions, but inside my application data (winXP), there was no logitech folder.

I have a G9 with setpoint 5.1, can you tell me where I could find my profiles / macros, since I too am about to reformat?

Don't work with windows7.

It is obvious that the Logitech developers do not use this device because they would have inserted an option for backup.
I could bet they are on RAZOR.

Come on guy's do you know about any application that does not have a backup option & do you know how much time does it take for set it up over & over & over again.

"gaming" mouse should be in contradiction to "boring" mouse, in your case is not.

Re: Backup my setpoint profile?

I think a feature like this warrents dorect support in the setpoint software. Your post was made in 2008, 4 years later, still not any better.
