Can I bind the left and right scroll buttons in a game?

I just read that in order to bind Mouse Buttons 3 and 4, I have to set them to Generic Button. after* many failed attempts with other methods, this trick finally worked! I wish I had read it sooner! :smileyhappy:

But I noticed that Generic Button is not an option for the left/right motions of the scroll wheel. Does this mean they cannot be bound in a game at all?

Thanks,

John

* "after" is lower cased because shift+a highlights all of my text in this input box, for some reason, instead of giving me a capital "a"

Re: Can I bind the left and right scroll buttons in a game?

Hello JohnSal

Here is a work around that you can try:

-Try assigning some keys on your keyboard as keystroke assignments to the left/right scroll. For example, the letters X and Y on your keyboard.

-Then bind the Letters X and Y on your keyboard in the game.

Hope this helps.

Re: Can I bind the left and right scroll buttons in a game?

Thanks for the response. This was actually the trick I tried when trying to bind the two side buttons, until I found the sticky thread that described how to do it (set them to "Generic Button" in the Logitech software). However, there is no Generic Button setting for the side-to-side scroll wheel buttons, and setting them to specific keys as you suggest doesn't work (as it didn't work for the side buttons either), because the Logitech settings seem to override the game settings and the game won't detect that the button has been pressed.
