Cannot uninstall Logitech SetPoint

I installed SetPoint 4.60, yet I cannot uninstall it. An error dialog was given:

"Sorry, this version of software is not compatible with your operating system. Please visit www.logitech.com to download a compatible version."

I have a standard install of Windows Vista Ultimate (64-bit) with Service Pack 1.

I wanted to uninstall it because SetPoint doesn't give any tabs for Logitech diNovo Mini, nor Dell BT Keyboard, despite the two devices being shown properly in my second PC's SetPoint software under Windows XP with Service Pack 3.

Re: Cannot uninstall Logitech SetPoint

Hi:smileyhappy:,

Please try using RevoUninstaller to remove SetPoint from your system; it works pretty well for instances like this.

Re: Cannot uninstall Logitech SetPoint

CAUTIONARY NOTE: In the fine print of the referenced Revo Uninstaller WebSite, the publisher states, "Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista 64 bit operating systems are NOT supported!". It would seem that those of us with a MicroSoft x64 OS will not be able to use this freeware utility to resolve this vexing problem.

Re: Cannot uninstall Logitech SetPoint

Hi:smileyhappy:,

Please try the following steps to (hopefully) resolve this:

1) Disable UAC.

2) Reinstall SetPoint.

3) Reboot

4) Try to uninstall SetPoint.

Re: Cannot uninstall Logitech SetPoint

Sorry for late reply. I thought I had notifications enabled.

I forgot to mention that I have UAC disabled to start with, so the reinstall step isn't any good.

Instead, I manually deleted the SetPoint folder, any Logitech related folders (e.g. "Logishrd"), removed any entry or keys of "Logitech" in the Windows Registry Editor, and restarted the computer.

I was able to install and launch the later version (SetPoint 4.70) without any errors, but no tabs showed up for either of my Bluetooth devices.
