Mice and Pointing Devices

I have MX 5500 keyboard connected.  I have cordless rumble pad 2.   My previous mouse is Trackman wheel.  I purchased a new cordless trackman wheel.  I connected this using PS2 mouse connector supplied with it.  The mouse is not detected.  However, if I use the USB connection for this everything works fine.  I checked the PS2 connector with other device and it works.  Can I use the PS2 connector with the cordless trackman wheel because I want to be able to free the USB connection for use with other devices.

I am using SETPOINT 4.24.99
