Erratic cursor movement.?

My cordless optical trackman behaves strangely every so often.  Specifically, when rolling the trackball, the cursor doesn't always immediately follow its intended path.  It will move, but after a slight delay and its movement doesn't appear to be as smooth as it could be.  Also, sometimes the cursor won't move on the first ball movement command.  And other times, it will not move until I roll the ball again.  But, at other times, it works perfectly.  Also, sometimes there is no response when left clicking...have to click a second time (this is not intended to be a 2x click).  Battery and everything else checks out fine.

Re: Erratic cursor movement.?

Hi flycaster1,

If  your Cordless Optical Trackman cursor does not follow the mouse movement  or displays erratic or unpredictable behavior, you may check the following solutions:

  • Remove any metallic objects between your Cordless Optical Trackman and receiver.
  • Relocate your mouse to a different location or move it closer to your USB receiver.
  • Connect or plugged in the receiver directly to your computer's USB port.

If the above mentioned solutions does not work, please try the following steps:

1.Remove or take out the batteries from the mouse.

2.With batteries out, press and hold left and right button on the mouse at the same time for 30 seconds.

3.After 30 seconds, place back or put back the batteries in.

4.Test the mouse by moving the Trackball.

Re: Erratic cursor movement.?

Hello flycaster,

It seems that your having problems with the trackball of the mouse as well as the left click button being unresponsive. Try cleaning the contacts between the trackball and the sensor of the mouse by removing the trackball. If you have replaced the batteries of the mouse and still having the same issue, power drain the mouse by holding any button on the mouse for 20 seconds without the batteries. If the problem still occurs, plug the receiver on another USB port and reconnect the mouse by pressing the connect button on the receiver for a second first, then press the connect button under the mouse for a second.
