How do I uninstall/disassociate mouse?

[ Edited ]

I recently purchased a new G700 mouse for my computer, to replace an older standard wireless logitech mouse.  Simply by turning off the old one I can avoid any interference from it, but I would like to use it on another computer.  How can I unlink the old mouse from my computer, to use on the other one without the wireless signal interfering?

Re: How do I uninstall mouse?

Just remove the receiver from the old mouse and move it to a different PC.

Not knowing what the old mouse is, it is anybody's guess as to what the receiver is.

It is your mouse, of course, but I doubt if you really needed to turn off the old one to prevent interference.

But that is just a guess based on the limited information that you provide.

Re: How do I uninstall mouse?

Unfortunately that's not possible.  I'm not actually sure of the old mouse's model number - it came as a mouse + keyboard combo, I believe the LX310 desktop.  I still use that keyboard with the computer, so removing the receiver entirely is likely not a good option unless I can make it work with the new mouse's wireless usb dongle.

A bit more information.  Let's identify the computers as 'Gaming' and 'Business'.

The Gaming computer has used a logitech wireless keyboard + mouse combo, the LX310.  I replaced the mouse for this computer with a G700, including installing its own wireless dongle.  I do not know if the keyboard can utilize the dongle, or if it must continue to use the current receiver.  At the moment, the LX310 set's mouse is physically turned off, the G700 using its own software separately from setpoint.  If the LX310's mouse is turned on, setpoint immediately recognizes it and the two mice will both operate on the computer.

The Business computer uses a PS/2 mouse, and a simple logitech 'cordless internet pro' keyboard via its receiver.

I wish to utilize the LX310 set's mouse with the Business computer, without the signal still being detected by the Gaming computer nearby.  Is there a way to do this without fully uninstalling setpoint and all logitech drivers from my Gaming computer and reinstalling from scratch?

Re: How do I uninstall mouse?

Hello DrifterDave,

Since the LX310 is a desktop combo set, the mouse and the keyboard make use of the same receiver. The mouse that was included with the LX310 set can not make use of the receiver came with your G700. You would need to pair the mouse to a second receiver plugged into the business computer to accomplish using the mouse on the business computer and the keyboard on the gaming computer.  Please check the following link to see if the M/N located inside the battery compartment of the mouse matches M/N for the receiver in this link. If yes, you may be able to purchase a second receiver to pair the mouse to.
