The fact is we missed our target release date.  Please don't read the following reasons as excuses.

1. I will post updates once I have a solid release date.

2. We have introuced a lot of Unifying products which implemented new RF technologies this summer.   Although our engineering resource was streched but we were still confident to release LCC in time or two weeks after Snow Leopard at the time of planning.

3. In the original planning, the LCC3.1 release date was between mid Sep and early Oct.

4. Snow Leopard came out earlier, and we thought we might able to release it in two weeks time but we missed it.

5. Our engineering group is working hard to get LCC 3.1 released ASAP but it most likely won't be ready this Friday.

Logitech a day late, and a dollar short

Ok - let me get this straight...

Logitech has known about the pending release of Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) for months.

Yet despite this knowledge, it is now scrambling to come up with a fix to enable ALL of its Mac mice to properly function.

Who, pray tell, was asleep at the wheel?  And the people who work there think they are part of a cutting edge technology company?

PUH-LEESE....  I love Logitech products, but in this instance, management is a day late and dollar short.  Maybe they should

hire someone to read the trade publications so they can figure out what is happening next.  I'd say Logitech was caught with

its pants down, but I'm trying to be diplomatic and understanding!

To be fair, Apple released 10.6 earlier than expected.

Re: Logitech a day late, and a dollar short

To be fair, lots of companies released the Snow Leopard friendly(even if not yet fully compatible) versions of their softwares well before 28th of Aug. Although the Mac market is small compare to PC's, I believe that we're still talking about tens of thousand however. For a company with the size like Logitech, there's no excuses at all.

There are lots of mouses for Mac with cutting-edge designs & technologies out there nowadays, they are equally as good if not better than what Logitech can offers. To me, reliable tech support was the only reason that I would like to stick with Logitech's products; however, now we all know how sincere they are toward us :robotmad: Time to try something new I guess :smileyvery-happy:

PS: I have never expected that my US $130 mouse can only functions no further than a $10 freaking antique 2 buttons mouse :robotmad::robotmad:

Re: LCC 3.1; Snow Leopard supported version is targeted to release within 2 weeks or sooner...

The real point is 130$ for a mice is expensive enough to have updates as soon as a new OS upgrade is available.

In addition to that a company like Logitech must have an ADC premium or select account.

For those ADC members Snow Leopard is available since at least 6 month to prepare necessary softwares/drivers for their products.

Windows 7 x64 is already supported...

Wait no more.  Here is the Logitech mouse fix for Mac Snow Leopard 10.6.
I tried it and everything is working perfectly.  Just what the doctor ordered.

Re: LCC 3.1; Snow Leopard supported version is targeted to release within 2 weeks or sooner...

I run Snow Leopard with 64bit kernel so 32 bit kernel extension provided with current LCC are not supported.

And move back to 32 bit kernel only for this hardware is annoying for me.

It's unbelievable to run Snow Leopard in 32 bit mode when it's capable to run as promised by Apple in full 64 bit with an entire 32 bit compatibility for app.

Everyone know now LCC most works on 32bit mode. But there's some Mac like mine with EFI64 and so 64 bit mode capabilities.

And I think Apple guidelines for dev are clear and target now universal 32/64 kernel extensions for Snow Leopard.

How do you move to 64 vs. 32?  How do you tell which you are in?

Thanks
