M305 Mouse not working

I had my computer hard drive replaced and everything seems to be working fine but I cannot get any usb mouse to work with it. I went and bought the Logitech M305 and hoped that out of the box it would work but it does not. I have downloaded drivers etc but no luck. I cannot figure out how to get it to work. Its a laptop with XP.
Thanks for any help.

Re: M305 Mouse not working

Hi hlh1919,

All of our mice use generic USB drivers contained in the windows operating system. If you are unable to get multiple USB mice working on the computer it may be a problem with the drivers on the computer being damaged or missing entirely. I would suggest having your PC serviced or contacting Microsoft directly for driver support.

Re: M305 Mouse not working

This answer is a load of hooey.

The M305 is riddled with issues.   Just search Google.

Many, many, people, myself included, cannot get it to work.

There's something wrong with the "Pairing" or "Unifying" software, and Logitech knows it.

Re: M305 Mouse not working

Hello

I hope to clear the confusion concerning the M305 . The receiver that is packaged with the M305 is a

Plug-and-Forget Nano-receiver how ever, some models of the M305 can use a Unifying receiver.   The confusion is that the Nano Receiver and the Unifying receiver each use a different software to pair and unpair the mice to the 2 different receivers.

Please see the Nano receiver connection utility  here http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/12155/section/troubleshoot/crid/428/lt_p...

Please see information and Unifying connection software here. http://www.logitech.com/en-us/mice-pointers/mice/devices/6811

I hope this has helped!
