M310 not recognized - XP

I used this mouse on my Win 7 laptop, plugged it in, and it started working immediately.  I bought a different mouse and gave this one to my mom.  Plugged it in her XP pc, but  it prompted to install a driver, so I downloaded SetPoint software and installed it.  Went through entire process, said it installed, but it's no where on her pc - not under All Programs or Program Files.  Any suggestions?

Re: M310 not recognized - XP

Hello stonelle,

We can try to clean install a previous version of SetPoint on your mom's computer. This would help us to avoid interference with other drivers and software. To do so, please follow these steps:

  1. Uninstall SetPoint.
  2. Download SetPoint 6.32 from the link that goes with your OS bit rate: 32 bit or 64 bit.
  3. Do a clean boot.
  4. Open SetPoint and check to see if it detects your M310.
  5. Restore your system.
  6. Check to see if the issue persists.

If that doesn't correct the issue, please try to make sure that the HID and USB drivers on the computer are up to date and that all the OS updates are installed. You could contact Microsoft Support for further assistance on this.

I hope this helps stonelle, please let me know how it goes.
