MX 1000 middle button problem

I have the MX Laser 1000 which I love.  But I use AutoCad at work and the middle button scrolls but when I hold it down it should pan but the pan is not working all the time.  I just replaced the battery.  I have taken it apart a couple of times thinking that maybe it was not together right.  Any suggestions?

Hi SPORTS96,

 

Does the middle button work with anything else?

You should try it in some other applications to see if it's the button that isn't working, or the program isn't registering the button being pressed.
