Hi all. I have had a Logitech MX 518 mouse for nearly 3 years and lately it has been randomly (or so it seems) disconnecting and reconnecting. I've observed that the optical red light will also turn off and on during that time it becomes unusable. The Windows disconnect sound will also play most of the time. No other USB device would disconnect. All other USB devices remained usable at all times.
I've managed to isolate the cause to when the USB cable (where it enters the MX 518) is at a particular angle or pushed in, it will cause the disconnection problem.
Mouse Model: MX 518
Mouse P/N: 810-000446
Mouse M/N: M-BS81A
These are the steps I tried before discovering the cause:
Initially, I thought it could be a problem with insufficient power supplied through the USB ports because I also have a Logitech G110 keyboard and have read about people having power issues due to the increased power draw on the G110 keyboard. But I have a 750W PSU and I've tested my USB slots and they were all at 5V exactly. Changing keyboards didn't resolve the issue.
I physically disconnected all USB devices except the mouse and the issue still persisted. I tried every single USB port.
I have tried plugging the mouse in a different computer and the problem was still there no matter which USB port I used.
I have tried reinstalling the latest Setpoint (which I was already using) and also uninstalling Setpoint to use the Windows default HID drivers to no avail. I also tried reinstalling Logitech Gaming Software (for the keyboard).
I have tried unchecking the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option in all USB Hub entries in Device Manager, but this didn't help. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling as many USB-related entries in Device Manager.
Edit:
(Removed irrelevant information)
I've noticed that this is a common problem with this particular mouse, even though the problem occurred after I've had it for some time, so I have brought the issue to Logitech under warranty.

My G9x mouse disconnets and reconnects almost 10 times per minute. It started happening about 1 month ago. All the drivers seem good, but the mouse is screwed up. Can i return the mouse to Logitech for a new one? I bought it last summer
