MX 620 fast mouse clicking

I have had an MX 620 connected to my computer for quite some time now.  It has, for a while now, been causing some difficulty with the speed at which pressing the button registers a click; i.e.: a single slight tap of the left button will register 2 clicks and do things I don't wish done on my screen.  I have slowed the speed of the mouse down in the control panel to no avail.  SetPoint tells me I have over 300 days worth of battery life left, so it can't be low batteries causing the problem.  This problem seems to be getting worse and I am at a loss for troubleshooting.  My operating system is XP.  I have SetPoint version 4.72.40.  I would like to resolve the problem without having to remove SetPoint as I am used to my custom extra button settings, including the horizontal scroll (which would not register without SetPoint).  PLEASE HELP!

Re: MX 620 fast mouse clicking

I am having this same problem with the same product.  Doesn't seem to be a way to take the mouse apart to clean it.  I only hear one click when I left click.  I wiped my hard drive and am reinstalling all software and drivers from scratch.  I hope the mouse is not permanently "broken".

Re: MX 620 fast mouse clicking

Hi:smileyhappy:,

Please try using the mouse with a different computer (if possible) to verify if it is a hardware problem. If the issue persists, please e-mail Customer Support  to process a warranty replacement.

Re: MX 620 fast mouse clicking

I had simillar thing with my mx revolution on the laptop with originall and full windows xp home sp2 but this was about 2 years ago. Change the windows for modified for example malcolm mx or modify using nLite... Or wait and maybe someone will write a solution on this thread: http://forums.logitech.com/logitech/board/message?board.id=general_mice&thread.id=22990
