MX Revolution - different button to toggle mouseweel-mode?

Is there a way to use another button to toggle the scroll-mode of the mouse wheel?

I would like to use the middle mouse button as usual and instead toggle the mode of the mousewheel with the search-button - I couldnt find a way, not even with uberOptions.

Any ideas?

i use the 'search' button as my 'middle' button (new tabs) and not much on the wheel button any more...

the 'reciever' has to send something to the mouse when u change applications on the screen, no? how else would it switch between free spin and clicky clicky

Hi:smileyhappy:,

The scroll mode change function can only be assigned to the scroll wheel button. The only other means to shift scroll modes is via the MX Revolution's SmartShift function.

You can do this with uberOptions. Just set the Search button (or any button) to other-> MicroGear: Shift Scroll Modes
Note that this only works on the MX Revolution, as the other models use hardware physical toggle switches for shift modes, so they can't be changed by software.

Re: MX Revolution - different button to toggle mouseweel-mode?

[ Edited ]

until setpoint 6.0 I was able to set the search button to change scroll modes. (either by uberoptions or manually editing the user.xml). in setpoint 6.0 this tweak no longer works.

please make it possibly to select which button toggles scroll modes. (seeing it was available before, it's definitely a SW issue)

also, before setpoint 6.0 it was possible to have smertshift active and at the same time have manual override, now this possibility lost as well

(I also own an MX5500 desktop set, same "downgrades" suffered)

PS: I would change back to Setpoint 4.8, but 6.0 finally have a bug fixed that prevented the computer to finish going to stand by if any mouse event occured between the sleep command and actually entering stand by
