Hi,
I have a problem with my MX Revolution:
As posted before here, from time to time, when i click once, it is interpreted as a double click. It's very annoying. The only solution I found so far was to uninstall Setpoint, and it worked great, except I lost some functionnalites.
The problem now is I bought a Dinovo keyboard, and it needs setpoint to work properly (I mean, the way it should work, with volume control, etc.)
So, I'm back with my double-click problem with my mouse:
- Are you going to fix this setpoint problem ? ( I tried almost all version I found on your FTP, but with the same results)
- If not, is there a way to use setpoint only for my DiNovo keyboard ? (and let windows driver deal with the MX mouse ?)
Thanks

I've finally fixed my MX Revolution.
It was the switch that wasn't working properly
i did that
here are some pictures to help dissambling

HINT to logitech driver developer team:
It appears that MS driver are doing some kind of filtering on the click detection so that unatural (= too close) double click are canceled. Perhaps it could be done too with your drivers too.
EDIT:
Of course, this apply only if your warranty has expired. It took me almost one hour to put the spring back in place. It could be very easily broken or bent.
This message is here because something that looked like a driver probleme is in fact an hardware failure.

Just a warning for other readers, Logitech, officially, probably does not recommend or support the fix linked in the above post. You very likely perform the actions in the link at your own risk.
With that said, this is still very useful information for those unafraid of breaking any possible warranties and digging into their hardware. Kudoed up.

How can you say it was a hardware issue when it happened only when it was being used in SetPoint? Reason I ask is because my MX1000 mouse is doing this in Windows 7 all of a sudden, when in Vista it was fine. If I let Windows handle the mouse it double clicks fine, but when I plug in the dongle it's like the double click speed is turned all the way up. It's not a hardware problem, it's something with their stupid software.
Is there any fix for this?

It wasn't a software problem in my case. as I had that since vista. I was trying the mouse without the SetPoint software and the problem still occured... Took the mouse apart, fixed the left button, put it all together and it works perfectly fine.

This is indeed a hardware fault, and it is ubiquitous to many Logitech mice. After about 6 months, the switches in the most-used button fail. I have lost two MX Revolutions, one G7 and latterly an MX1100 to the exact same fault. These forums are full of double-click faults on various models, and it has nothing to do with Setpoint or double-click speed.
The only redemption has been that Logitech have always replaced the faulty product. My only concern is that, for my last replacement, the operator asked me to smash up my laser mouse that not only would have left me 3-4 weeks without ANY mouse (even an irritating double-clicking mouse) but it is also a woefully irresponsible and dangerous request (especially for a laser-equipped mouse) for Logitech to make. I argued this point and the next operator said that I did not have to smash up my mouse, but simply post the base unit and receiver to Germany which I dutifully did.
In short, whilst Logitech is prepared to replace their products (without insisting on this smash-up-your-mouse nonsense) I will still buy Logitech because the features and quality seem to outweigh any other mice on the market. Should Logitech's customer service worsen, I will switch brands. Right now though, I am content (though wish they would invest more research into poor button components than posh lasers...).

As poster above says, HARDWARE BUTTON FAILURE. Like OP, I've been down this road with MX-700, and now as of two weeks, the replacement MX-Revolution is doing the exact same thing. I just sent them a report and hopefully will get an RMA number for returning it. Seems they keep using the same microswitch button parts, even though they fail too quickly.
