Mice and Pointing Devices

I've been using this mouse on my xp media center HP desktop for several years without problem.  Lately, the mouse cursor no longer tracks the movement with any regularity.  Sometimes it works nicely, and others it just stops and nothing I do will move the cursor.  I've uninstalled setpoint, and reinstalled the latest version, and it has not made any difference.  The other buttons of the mouse work perfectly, its just the movement thats an issue.

The mouse info is:  MRAG97

setpoint software is 6.15.6 driver version 5.10.9

I tried several  things -- cleaning the lenses, cleaning the mouse pad, switching to an anti-static mouse pad. Still occured. Finally I tried re-seating the USB dongle in the USB port, and that cleared it up.

Note that it is a RF device, so you may get erratic behavior if you place your cellphone, cordeless phone, or other wireless devices near the mouse.
