MX1100 lag issues

Just picked it up. It's a sweet mouse, but it freezes in the middle of movements frequently. I am running win7 rc 64-bit. I have a wireless-N router in the same room running at 2.4ghz.

I've switched back and forth in Setpoint b/w "Setpoint Implementation" and "OS Implementation" as I read that sometimes it fixes the issues. I have found that it does not, and that it actually freezes less on "Setpoint implementation."  All the keys, scrollling, tilting, etc. are working great. But if I can't get this freezing issue resolved, I have to return it - it's too frustrating.

Anybody heard of a solution?

Re: MX1100 lag issues

Possible interferrence?  Try moving the receiver closer to the mouse or the router away from the receiver/mouse.  Max out the DPI (1600) and adjust the sensitivity.  Best is to keep the sensitivity at default (6th notch?). Try difference surfaces.

Re: MX1100 lag issues

Thanks for the reply.

I found out it was actually due to the way I was holding the mouse and the table surface. Being a laser mouse, I thought it was supposed to work on any surface, but it doesn't. The table I had it one was a regular dining room table and I think it was too slick for it. The other issue was I'm used to holding the mouse with a palm grip, but when I move the mouse in that situation, I move the back end of the mouse, and the sensor on this bad boy is on the front end, so it didn't move with my movements and "froze".

Re: MX1100 lag issues

Glad you were able to solve your problem.

This is only the 2nd day I've owned the mouse and I will admit it does take some time to get use to.  I'm currently trying to get use to gripping the mouse as well as retrain my muscles for fine movements.  On top of that, I've had to change my mousing surface over to something more course to get acceptable tracking.  Seems like a lot of work but I'll stick with it until it drives me bananas (which hopefully it won't).

I got the same issue, i doubt its a surface issue, i've literally had to pick up the mouse and flip the switch off and back on again to get it to move once

Re: MX1100 lag issues

THere isn't one. But I think it's related to a table-top and grip issue. try gripping the mouse more in front and moving the front more than the back. also make sure your table/desk is not slick.

Re: MX1100 lag issues

I was having a horrible problem that started after I'd used my mouse for 5 months. It suddenly started jumping when trying to make small precise movements. I've tried all the tips listed from changing the Setpoint settings and checking the receiver. I even tried changing my grip to no avail. It ended up being something both simple and stupid. I looked at the laser emitter and receiver on the bottom of the mouse and it had a fine  layer of dust on it. I couldn't see it without a bright light shinning on it. I cleaned the dust off with a q-tip and bingo!

Just like new again.

Re: MX1100 lag issues

I have had the mouse for one day and am having lag issues. Ridiculous.  This is NOT a tracking problem.  It occurs approximately once every ten or fifteen minutes and just completely is unresponsive for a few seconds (which seems like forever when you are trying to move the cursor).   I am going to try uninstalling the Setpoint software first, and if that doesn't work, i'll try installing uberOptions (although i'm sure it just builds on set point but i'm not sure yet).   Please if somebody has this problem and knows a fix, if you could please let me know what you did !!!!
