I recently upgraded my OS from XP3 x32 to Win 7 x64 bit.. and LOVED my MX518 and its extra buttons for gaming and autocad work.
Sadly when i upgraded my os.. everything i have set for my MX in some programs.. and the desktop seem to work just fine.
Keypress and acceleration.
when i got into some more intensive programs and games it seems that EVERYTHING setpoint has configured.. seaces to exsist.
keystrokes set to MMB and buttons 3-5 are ignores totally.
in program config doesent even recognize that the mouse buttons are being pressed.
acceleration is even seemingly lacking.
i have game detect on...
ALL the game boxes are checked including keep settings in game mode.
im the only user.. and thus set up as administrator.
TRIED the forum suguestion at having program itself set to run as admin...
sadly.. no change as settings are still lost.. and worse.. setpoint refuses to start up when windows starts when set to run as admin.. and i have to start it manually each time.
Losing hotkeys in my 3d rendering programs and animation software is also a very uncomfortable hit as the added buttons are the main reason i got this mouse over a standard one.
PLEASE tell me that this is an easy fix?

Hello DFStormbringer,
You could try removing Setpoint 6.22 and installing setpoint480_x64.exe . This has resolved similar issues for others.

done... and done.
and again.. any configuration with new setpoint version.. becomes lost and unresponsive when a program is placed in fullscreen...
so yes.. still a problem with it properly detecting "game mode"
going to try a few more changes over the next few days.. including manually placing all software exes into the detection list.
will get back to you when i have more.

ok i can further confirm that adding each programs and games exe to the setpoint advanced list does NOT force setpoint to recognize it.
and further going... setting each tested executable as run as admin in its compatibility settings again.. still no change.
it seems i am currently stuck with a multi button mouse where the buttons are non functional in 90% of my programs >.>
Is there a way to bypass game detection mode?
i want my mouse config to be the same 100% of the time.. desktop.. game.. side application.. internet..
i dont care what im running i want those button functions and pointer speed to be the same.. all the time.. no matter what i am running.
and right now.. something is failing with its ability to detect most apps running.. and i can only assume its because of the change to windows 7 because i never once had a problem in XP sp3

Hello DFStormbringer,
Have you tried running the games as administrator?
